Clinic Guide · Seomyeon, Busan
JRYN Seomyeon, explained before you arrive.
Where the clinic is, which doctor you will see, what languages are spoken, how pricing works and what actually happens on the day. Written for patients travelling from outside Korea, with the details most guides leave out.
Most clinic pages tell you what treatments exist. Very few tell you what the day itself looks like — how long the consultation runs, whether anyone will speak your language, what happens if you decide not to proceed. This page covers that, using the same information our coordinators give over WhatsApp before you fly.
Does This Sound Familiar?
What visitors ask us before booking
I only have one day in Busan — can I actually fit a treatment in?
I found the clinic, but will anyone there speak my language properly?
How do I know I am not being quoted a foreigner price?
I fly home tomorrow. Will I be swollen in my photos?
What if I get there and the doctor says I do not need it?
All five come up almost every week. This page answers them in order, using the same information our coordinators send over WhatsApp before you fly.
Where JRYN Seomyeon is, and how to reach it
JRYN Seomyeon sits on the 4th floor of Samjung Tower on Jungang-daero, in the Seomyeon district of Busan. Seomyeon is the commercial centre of the city — it is where Lines 1 and 2 of the subway cross, which makes it the easiest district in Busan to reach from almost anywhere.
From Seomyeon Station Exit 2 the walk is roughly five minutes; from Seomyeon Mall Exit 16 it is two. The clinic sits inside Seomyeon Medical Street, the district where most of Busan's clinics are concentrated — six minutes on foot from Lotte Department Store Busan Main, eight from Jeonpo Cafe Street. From Gimhae International Airport, the limousine bus and the light rail plus subway transfer both land you in the area in around forty-five minutes. From Busan Station, where the KTX from Seoul arrives, it is two subway stops.
For taxi drivers:
show the Korean address rather than the English one. Korean drivers navigate by district and building name, and the romanised version often causes confusion. Our coordinators send the Korean address as an image on WhatsApp before your visit.
Which languages are actually spoken
English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese are supported. This matters more than it sounds. A large number of clinics in Korea advertise foreign-language service and then hand you a translation app at the counter, which is fine for booking and unhelpful when you are trying to describe a skin concern or understand a risk.
At JRYN Seomyeon the consultation itself is conducted in your language. Where a treatment carries a specific risk — pigmentation rebound on Asian skin after laser, for example, or the downtime attached to a deeper resurfacing — that explanation happens in a language you actually think in, not a summarised version of it.
Written follow-up also continues in the same language. Aftercare instructions, and any questions that come up once you are home, are handled over WhatsApp or LINE rather than by leaving you with a Korean-only printout.
Who will see you
Three doctors work at the Seomyeon main branch. Dr. Jeong Heon Lee founded the JRYN Network and remains its head; Dr. Yoon Jung-wook and Dr. Jin Tae-wan are the managing and vice managing directors of this branch.
The practical point for a visiting patient is this: injections and laser parameters are decided and performed by a doctor, not delegated. Dose, depth and placement are the entire treatment — the device brand matters far less than most marketing suggests — so the person making those calls is the thing worth checking at any clinic, not only this one.
How a first consultation works
The clinic runs through lunch with no midday closure, and opens every day of the week including Saturday and Sunday — worth knowing, because a midday break is standard at most Korean clinics and Sunday closure is near-universal.
Consultation is free, and it is not a formality. The sequence is consistent:
1. You describe the concern
In your own language, in your own words. There is no need to arrive knowing the name of a treatment. Patients frequently arrive asking for one thing and leave with something different, because the concern turns out to have a different cause than they assumed.
2. The doctor examines and explains the cause
Dark circles are the clearest example. If the shadow comes from a hollow, under-eye filler
resolves it. If it comes from pigmentation or thin skin showing the vessels underneath, filler will not help and may make it worse. These look identical in a mirror and are entirely different problems.
3. Options are laid out with trade-offs
Including the option of doing nothing, and the option of a treatment we do not offer. If surgery is the honest answer for the degree of laxity you have, you will be told that rather than sold a thread lift that underdelivers.
4. Pricing is given before anything happens
An exact figure, in writing if you want it, before you agree to anything. Nothing is added on the day.
How pricing works, and what you will be told
Foreign patients pay the same prices as local patients. There is no separate foreigner rate at JRYN Seomyeon, which is worth confirming anywhere in Korea, because the practice is not universal.
Prices published on this site are starting figures. What changes them is volume and area, not your nationality. Botox priced per unit costs more if your masseter muscle is thick and needs more units; a laser priced per session costs more if you are treating the full face rather than one patch.
Cards are accepted, including foreign-issued Visa, Mastercard, JCB and AMEX. Cash in Korean won is also fine. You do not need to prepay or leave a deposit to hold a consultation slot.
Consultations run 20–40 minutes, in your language
What to bring, and what you can skip
Bring your passport — Korean clinics record it for foreign patients. Bring a list of any medication you take regularly, particularly blood thinners, isotretinoin and anything affecting immune response, since each of these changes what can safely be done and when.
If you have had treatments before, knowing roughly what and roughly when is useful. Exact product names help but are not essential. If you have had filler in the area you want treated, say so — it changes the plan.
You can skip printed research, competitor price lists and screenshots of results you want to replicate. None of it is unwelcome, but the consultation covers the same ground more accurately.
Photographs help before you arrive.
Sending two or three well-lit photos over WhatsApp lets us give a realistic price range and tell you whether the treatment you have in mind is the right one — before you commit to travel dates.
How long treatments take
Shorter than most people expect. Consultation runs around twenty to forty minutes depending on complexity. The treatments themselves:
Lip, chin
and nose filler
— fifteen to twenty minutes, mild swelling for a day or two
Pico toning
— fifteen to twenty minutes, make-up the same day
Rejuran
and water glow
— twenty minutes, small bumps settle within a day
Ultherapy
and Thermage
— thirty to sixty minutes depending on shot count
PDO threads
and Aptos
— thirty to sixty minutes, two to three weeks of care
Numbing cream, where used, adds twenty to thirty minutes to the total. Most patients are in and out inside two hours including consultation, and several treatments can be combined in a single visit when they do not interfere with each other.
Booking from outside Korea
Message on WhatsApp with your travel dates and what you would like to address. Photographs are useful but optional at this stage. You will receive a reply in your language with an honest read on whether the treatment fits, a realistic price range and a schedule that works around your trip.
No deposit is required. The consultation on arrival remains free, and there is no obligation to proceed after it. If the answer turns out to be that a treatment is not right for you, you will hear that before you spend anything.
After you fly home
Aftercare continues over the same channel you booked on. Swelling that seems unusual, a question about when you can resume exercise, whether a particular product is safe to use — these are answered in your language rather than left to a search engine.
For treatments that run as a course, the schedule is planned around your ability to return. Where a course cannot be completed in one trip, the plan is built to reach a sensible endpoint within the visit and continue when you next travel.
Our Medical Team
Who will actually treat you at JRYN Seomyeon?
A doctor, in person, every time — never a nurse or a coordinator. JRYN Seomyeon has three doctors, and the clinic was founded by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, who still consults here. What you actually need is decided during the consultation after your skin is examined, not from a fixed package chosen in advance.
Three doctors, one standard of care.
Every treatment plan at JRYN Seomyeon is decided and performed in person by one of our doctors — led by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, founder of JRYN Dermatology.
From the Founder
The consultation is the treatment.
Most patients arrive asking for a specific treatment. My job is to check whether it is the right one for what they actually have. Getting that wrong is the most common mistake I correct.

Before You Book
Questions patients ask first.
Both work. Walk-in consultations are accepted during opening hours — and because the clinic runs through lunch and opens seven days a week, that window is wider than at most Korean clinics. A same-day treatment is often possible after the consultation. That said, messaging ahead is worth the two minutes it takes: it means the coordinator who speaks your language is scheduled, and it means we can tell you in advance if what you want requires a course rather than a single visit. For travellers on a tight itinerary, that difference matters.
The consultation is conducted in English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese. This is the part of the visit where a language gap does real damage — describing a concern accurately, and understanding what a treatment can and cannot do, both depend on it. Written aftercare and follow-up questions after you return home continue in the same language over WhatsApp or LINE.
Not at JRYN Seomyeon — the prices are the same. What changes a final figure is volume and treated area, not nationality. Because separate foreigner pricing does exist at some clinics in Korea, it is a reasonable question to ask anywhere before you commit, and a clinic that answers it clearly is telling you something useful about how it operates.
Around two hours covers consultation and most treatments, including numbing time where it applies. Consultation alone runs twenty to forty minutes. Botox takes about ten minutes and filler fifteen to twenty; lifting and thread treatments run thirty to sixty minutes depending on shot or thread count. If you are planning around a flight or a meeting, tell us and we will give you a specific number rather than a range.
For most treatments, yes. Botox, laser toning and skin boosters carry no meaningful restriction on flying. Filler and thread lifting involve swelling that peaks in the first day or two, so flying is possible but you may prefer not to arrive somewhere important looking swollen. Deeper resurfacing lasers need more planning. Send your departure date with your enquiry and the schedule will be built around it.
Then you will be told, and there is no charge for having asked. This happens regularly — most often with dark circles, where a hollow and a pigmentation problem look identical but need entirely different treatments, and with laxity, where surgery is sometimes the honest answer rather than threads. A consultation that ends without a booking is a normal outcome, not a failed one.
Foreign-issued Visa, Mastercard, JCB and AMEX are accepted, as is cash in Korean won. No deposit is required to hold a consultation slot, and payment is taken after treatment rather than before. If you want a written estimate before deciding, ask during the consultation and you will be given one.
Yes — five minutes on foot from Seomyeon Station Exit 2, or two minutes from Seomyeon Mall Exit 16. The clinic is on the 4th floor of Samjung Tower on Jungang-daero, inside Seomyeon Medical Street. Lotte Department Store Busan Main is six minutes away, Jeonpo Cafe Street eight. From Gimhae International Airport allow about forty-five minutes; from Busan Station, two subway stops. If you are taking a taxi, show the Korean address rather than the romanised one, which we send ahead of your visit.
