What does skin resurfacing do, and how aggressive should you go in Busan?

Resurfacing means renewing the upper skin so that texture, fine lines, pores and surface pigment improve together: energy creates controlled micro-injuries, the skin heals them with new collagen and a fresh surface, and the depth of the injury decides both the result and the days you lose. At Boom Dermatology the tiers run from no visible wound to a week of healing. PicoHi Fraxel ₩275,000 and Picolo Fraxel ₩330,000 are fractional picosecond: micro-zones under an intact surface, one to two days of pinkness, the glass-skin pass. Moxi ₩770,000 is non-ablative 1927 nm: pigment lifted and the upper dermis remodelled with three to five days of flaking. Downtime after resurfacing, and flying home

By tier: one to two days of pinkness for fractional pico; three to five days of fine flaking for Moxi; five to seven days of redness and peeling for UltraClear; a week to ten days of raw healing then pinkness for CO2. Make-up from day two for the fractional tiers. Fly after 24 hours for pico and Moxi, after three days for the ablative tiers. Sunscreen daily for a month on every tier.

My texture looks rough and tired even with good skincare. What changes it?

Skincare maintains the surface; it cannot remodel it. A course of three fractional picosecond passes four to six weeks apart renews the surface with a day of pinkness each time, and most "tired" skin at Boom Dermatology is served by that tier plus toning. If the roughness is sun damage with lines, Moxi does more in one session for a few days of flaking.

I have enlarged pores that nothing touches. Which tier?

Pores are a structure in the mid-dermis, so the surface tiers tighten them modestly and RF microneedling tightens them properly; the pore page sets out Kaiser 300, FloraCell, Sylfirm X and Potenza. Resurfacing helps the surface around the pores; the pore wall itself wants RF.

Fine lines are starting around my eyes and mouth. Is resurfacing the answer?

For fine surface lines, Moxi is: it remodels the upper dermis where they sit, with three to five days of flaking, usually three sessions then one a year. Deeper expression lines are a Botox question and static folds a filler one; the doctor at our Seomyeon skin clinic says which yours are.

Is this how you actually get the Korean glass-skin look?

Partly. Glass skin is surface texture plus hydration plus even tone: a fractional pico course for the surface, a hydrating booster for the water and a toning course for the tone. No single resurfacing session produces it; the combination, maintained, does.

How aggressive should I go?

As shallow as solves the problem. The deep tiers do more per session and cost more in days and darkening risk; on Asian skin the shallow tiers over a course usually reach the same place with less of both.
