Booking The Boom Seomyeon, in English, before you fly.
What to send, what comes back, and how a plan is built around your travel dates. No deposit, free consultation on arrival, and an honest read on whether the treatment you have in mind is the right one. From The Boom Dermatology, a skin clinic in Seomyeon, Busan.
Most clinic booking pages tell you to fill in a form. This one explains what actually happens after you press send — what a useful first message contains, what you get back, and how a schedule is built around a trip rather than around whatever slot is free.
What visitors ask before messaging
I do not know the name of the treatment I need. Can I still ask?
Will I get an actual person, or an automated reply?
Do I have to pay a deposit to hold a slot?
I am only in Busan for three days. Is that even worth asking about?
What if I message and then decide not to come?
All five come up most weeks. The sections below answer them in order — and none of them require you to commit to anything before you have an answer.
What should I send in my first message to a Busan skin clinic?
Three things speed everything up: two or three well-lit photographs of the concern, the dates you will be in Busan, and any treatments you have had before. You do not need to know the name of a procedure — describing the concern in your own words is enough, and frequently more useful than a treatment name copied from somewhere else. If you have had filler in the area you are asking about, mention it, because it changes the plan.
What comes back from our Seomyeon clinic, and how quickly?
A reply within 24 hours on WhatsApp, usually much sooner during opening hours, from a coordinator who speaks your language rather than from an automated system. If you sent photographs and dates, that reply already contains a realistic price range, an honest read on whether the treatment you have in mind suits your concern, and a suggested schedule — not a request for more information.
Do I need to book The Boom in Seomyeon, or can I walk in?
Both work. Walk-in consultations are accepted during opening hours and same-day treatment is often possible afterwards. Because the clinic in Seomyeon, Busan runs through lunch and is open Monday to Saturday, until 21:00 on Tuesday and Thursday, that window is wider than at most Korean clinics. Messaging ahead still helps: a coordinator who speaks your language is scheduled, and we can tell you in advance if what you want needs a course rather than a single visit — which matters on a short trip.
How is a plan built around my travel dates?
Backwards from your departure. Treatments that leave nothing visible — botox, laser toning, skin boosters
— can sit anywhere in the trip. Filler
and thread lifting
involve swelling that peaks over a day or two, so those go early. Deeper resurfacing needs real planning and sometimes does not fit at all, in which case we say so rather than squeezing it in.
Are the prices on the site what I will actually pay?
They are starting figures, and what moves them is volume and area rather than nationality — foreign patients pay the same as local patients here. The exact figure is confirmed at consultation before anything is drawn up, and nothing is added on the day. The full price list
shows every treatment. If you want a written estimate before deciding, ask during the consultation and you will be given one.
Consultations run 20–40 minutes, in your language
Is a deposit required to hold a consultation?
No. Consultation is free, no deposit is required, and payment is taken after treatment rather than before. Foreign-issued Visa, Mastercard, Amex, UnionPay and JCB are accepted alongside cash in Korean won. If the consultation ends without a booking — which happens regularly and is a normal outcome — nothing is charged.
What happens on the day I arrive in Busan?
The clinic is on the 4th floor of Pungnyeon Building, less than a minute from Seomyeon Station Exit 1 or inside Seomyeon Medical Street. Consultation runs 20 to 40 minutes depending on complexity. Most treatments take under an hour after that. Bring your passport, a list of any regular medication, and the photographs you sent if you have them.
What if I am comparing several skin clinics in Busan?
Ask each one the same three questions and the differences become obvious quickly. First: what is the unit count or volume, not just the area price — a jaw botox quote of ₩16,500 (Wondertox) and one of ₩121,000 (Xeomin) are different products and possibly different unit counts. Second: who performs the injection, a doctor or a nurse. Third: is there separate pricing for foreign patients. A clinic that answers all three plainly is telling you something useful about how it operates, regardless of which one you eventually choose.
Can I get a written estimate from The Boom before I travel to Busan?
A range, yes; an exact figure, no, and the reason matters. Dose is decided by anatomy — a thick masseter needs more units than a slim one, filler volume depends on how much has been lost, laser sessions depend on what is being treated. Publishing a flat figure for every patient would mean over-charging some and under-treating others. What we can do from photographs is give a realistic range you can plan around, then confirm the exact figure at consultation before anything is opened.
What should I not bother sending?
Printed research, competitor price lists, and screenshots of results you want to replicate. None of it is unwelcome, but the consultation covers the same ground more accurately. Reference photographs in particular tend to mislead — the result in an image was produced on a different face with different anatomy, and copying it rarely suits a different one. Describing what bothers you about your own face is more useful than showing someone else's.
What happens after I fly home from Busan?
Follow-up continues on the same channel, in the same language. Swelling that seems unusual, when to resume exercise, whether a product is safe on treated skin — these are answered rather than left to a search engine. For treatments running as a course, the schedule is planned around your ability to return, and treatment notes are documented so another doctor can continue your care if needed.

Good to know
Questions patients ask our Busan skin clinic first
1
Which app should I use — WhatsApp, WhatsApp?
Whichever you already use. WhatsApp, in English, Japanese or Chinese, wherever you are writing from. Every message reaches the same coordinators with the same reply times.
2
Can I ask questions without committing to anything?
Yes, and most people do. Enquiries that end without a booking are a normal part of the day rather than a failure. If the honest answer is that the treatment you asked about will not fix your concern, you will be told that before you spend anything, including before you buy a flight.
3
How far ahead should I message?
Two to three weeks is comfortable for planning, though a day before is fine for straightforward treatments. Where earlier helps is when a course is involved, or when you have an event and the timing needs building backwards from it — say a wedding, where lip filler
needs two to three weeks and jaw botox
needs eight.
4
Do I need to send photographs?
Not required, but they change the quality of the reply substantially. With photographs we can give a realistic price range and an honest opinion on suitability. Without them the answer stays general. Two or three well-lit shots in natural light are enough — no special angles needed.
5
Will the doctor see my photographs, or just a coordinator?
The doctor reviews anything clinical. Coordinators handle scheduling, language and logistics; assessments of what a treatment can achieve come from a doctor. If a photograph raises something that needs examining in person rather than guessing at, you will be told that rather than given a confident answer remotely.
6
Can I book for someone else?
Yes, and it is common for couples or families travelling together. Send both sets of details and the appointments are scheduled together where possible. Each person is consulted individually, since the plan follows the face in front of the doctor rather than a group booking.
7
What if my plans change?
Tell us and the appointment moves. There is no deposit to lose and no cancellation charge. Rescheduling is straightforward, including on the day, though earlier notice means the slot can go to someone else.
8
Is there a language I cannot be helped in?
Consultations run in English, Japanese, Chinese, Chinese and Korean. Outside those, written translation is possible but the consultation itself will lose precision, and we will say so honestly rather than pretending otherwise.
