Every question below has been asked by a real patient — most of them dozens of times, in five languages, usually at eleven at night before a flight. Rather than answer them one WhatsApp thread at a time, here they all are: fifty-plus questions across booking, money, pain, visibility, travel, safety, plan changes and culture, each answered in the direct style we use at the desk. Longer answers exist for almost every topic in the Knowledge Center, and each section links to them — but if you only read one page before messaging us, this is the page.
Does This Sound Familiar?
You have questions. Probably these exact ones.
It is late, you leave soon, and you are typing questions into a search bar one at a time.
You have read three clinic websites and still do not know what anything actually costs to book.
Your real questions are the awkward ones — pain, bruises, what happens if you hate it.
You want the flying-home rules without reading a whole travel guide.
You would ask a friend who has done this, if you had one. Consider this that friend.
All five are why this page exists. Fifty-plus answers, no scrolling through threads — and a message button at the end for the fifty-first.
How do booking and first contact work?
Do I need to book in advance?
— No — same-day works, but messaging photos a day ahead means the doctor drafts your plan before you arrive, per the same-day guide.
How do I contact you without speaking Korean?
— WhatsApp, LINE or WeChat, in English, Japanese or Chinese — photos plus your dates gets the fastest, most accurate reply.
Is there a deposit or booking fee?
— No. Nothing is paid before treatment, ever. You pay after each treatment, at the desk.
Can consultation and treatment happen the same visit?
— Yes — that is the standard flow, not an exception. Most first visits run door to done inside ninety minutes.
What days are you open?
— Open through lunch, seven days a week — weekends and holidays are ordinary treatment days, which is what makes trip scheduling work.
What should you know about money?
Are prices really published?
— Every treatment, on the pricing page, VAT included — the website number is the desk number.
Do foreigners pay more?
— No. One price list for everyone — local, tourist, resident. No coordinator fee, no commission, nothing added for language.
What payment methods work?
— International Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, JCB and UnionPay, charged in won at your card's rate; won cash too. Details in how to pay.
Will I be pushed to buy packages?
— No — the no-upsell policy
is testable: the quoted plan is the plan, and "I'll think about it" ends the conversation politely.
Can I get a tax refund?
— Short-term visitors can claim the VAT back at the airport — roughly seven to nine percent after fees. The full mechanics are in the VAT refund guide.
How much does treatment hurt?
Is botox painful?
— Brief pinpricks, over in minutes — most patients rate it easier than a blood draw. Jaw botox
is the gentlest introduction most people meet.
Do you use numbing?
— Yes — topical numbing is standard for boosters, filler and energy treatments that warrant it, included rather than upsold. The full pain map is in numbing and anaesthesia.
What is the most comfortable energy treatment?
— Forma-style RF and Shurink
at standard settings — warmth rather than pain. Sofwave
runs with numbing and stays very manageable.
Which treatments genuinely sting?
— Honest list: water glow
without numbing, deeper filler points, and scar resurfacing
— all managed, none ambush you.
Can I ask to pause mid-treatment?
— Always — and it is acted on immediately. Comfort adjustments are routine, not complaints.
What will people see afterwards?
Can I go to dinner tonight?
— After botox, toning, HIFU or Forma — yes, nothing shows by evening. Booster papules prefer a quiet night; filler prefers two.
When can I wear makeup?
— Same day for energy treatments; next day over injection points. Sunscreen is the one non-negotiable, per sun protection after treatment.
Will I bruise?
— Possibly with filler and some boosters — a coin-flip worth planning around events, as bruising and swelling explained
covers. Botox and lasers rarely bruise.
What has real downtime?
— Resurfacing
and deep scar work: three to five visible days. Everything else on the no-downtime menu
means it.
When do results actually appear?
— Botox: three to seven days. Boosters: two to four weeks. Collagen treatments: two to three months. The honest timeline per treatment is in how long results last.
The desk answers these daily in five languages; this page answers them at 2 am.
What about flights and travel timing?
Can I fly the day after treatment?
— After most of the menu, yes — botox, toning, boosters and HIFU have no cabin conflict. Flying after treatment
has the full table.
How close are you to the airport?
— About forty-five minutes from Gimhae — light rail to Sasang, Line 2 to Seomyeon, per the airport guide.
Can I do this as a day trip from Seoul?
— Comfortably — KTX to Busan Station, two subway stops, treat, return same evening. The timings are in the KTX day-trip guide.
How many days should a treatment trip be?
— Two covers most single treatments; five covers a device session plus booster properly spaced — see the five-day itinerary.
What if my flight changes after treatment?
— Message us — aftercare and review timing adjust to your new dates, and nothing about your plan is voided by an airline.
Who treats you, and with what?
Who actually performs treatment?
— Doctors — assessment, injections and energy treatments alike, as who performs your treatment
details. Dr. Jeong Heon Lee leads the medical team.
Are your products genuine?
— Verifiably — sealed packaging opened in front of you, lot numbers on request, device counters shown. The checks that work anywhere are in the counterfeit guide.
What does MFDS approval mean?
— Korea's FDA counterpart — it certifies the product and device pathway. What the stamp does and does not promise is in MFDS approval explained.
Is my skin tone safe for laser here?
— Settings are parameterised for melanin and PIH risk
across all skin tones — and where a treatment suits your type poorly, you hear it before paying.
What if I don't like the result?
— Come to review — assessment first, honest options second. Botox adjustments within the included window are exactly that: included, per the two-week review.
What if I react badly after flying home?
— Message photos immediately — the doctor reviews remotely and directs next steps, including local-care guidance where needed. What can go wrong
covers the honest risk map.
Can I cancel or reschedule without penalty?
— Yes — no deposit means no cancellation fee. A message is courtesy; that is the entire policy.
What if the doctor refuses my request?
— It happens, and it is the system working — when not to treat
explains the refusals that protect you. An alternative is always proposed.
Do my records follow me?
— Yes — English treatment summaries with products, doses and lot numbers travel to any future provider, anywhere.
What do language and culture require of you?
Do I need any Korean at all?
— None — messaging, consultation, consent and aftercare all run in English, with Japanese and Chinese available. The clinic is registered Foreigner-Friendly.
Should I tip anyone?
— No — tipping is neither expected nor accepted, and will be politely returned, as clinic etiquette
explains.
Is declining a recommendation rude?
— Not remotely — deferring and declining are ordinary, and structurally protected by the no-upsell policy.
What should I bring to a first visit?
— Passport, medication list, bare face if injections are likely — the complete list is in what to bring.
What are my rights as a foreign patient?
— Informed consent in your language, itemised billing, records access and complaint channels — set out in foreign patient rights.
Where do you go from here?
Where do I research a specific treatment?
— Start at the hubs — botox, filler, lifting, boosters, laser, threads
— every option priced, every detail one click deeper.
Where is the clinic exactly?
— Inside Seomyeon Medical Street: five minutes from Seomyeon Station Exit 2, two from Seomyeon Mall Exit 16, six from Lotte Department Store Busan Main, eight from Jeonpo Cafe Street.
What is the actual first step?
— Photos plus your dates on WhatsApp
— the plan comes back in writing with prices, reviewed by the doctor, before you commit to anything.
And the fifty-first question — the one specific to your face, your dates and your budget — is the one the desk answers best. The Knowledge Center
holds the long-form library behind every short answer above; the message button holds everything else.
Our Medical Team
Who will actually treat you at JRYN Seomyeon?
A doctor, in person, every time — never a nurse or a coordinator. JRYN Seomyeon has three doctors, and the clinic was founded by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, who still consults here. What you actually need is decided during the consultation after your skin is examined, not from a fixed package chosen in advance.
Three doctors, one standard of care.
Every treatment plan at JRYN Seomyeon is decided and performed in person by one of our doctors — led by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, founder of JRYN Dermatology.
From the Founder
The consultation is the treatment.
Most patients arrive asking for a specific treatment. My job is to check whether it is the right one for what they actually have. Getting that wrong is the most common mistake I correct.

Before You Book
Questions patients ask first.
Yes — messages are answered daily including weekends; overnight messages get replies the following morning. The clinic itself runs seven days, so weekend questions can become weekend appointments.
A few days is plenty for most treatments — message photos, receive the plan, book the slot. Device sessions during peak season benefit from a week's notice; nothing on the menu needs months.
Most single treatments complete in one visit, with follow-up handled by photo. Course-based treatments need returns by design — and you will be told which is which before paying, not after.
Whether prices are really final — and yes: published, VAT-inclusive, identical for everyone, unchanged at the desk. The second most-asked is bruising odds before events, which the timing guides answer honestly.
Routinely — roughly a third of foreign patients are men, and nothing about process, pricing or discretion differs. The men's treatment patterns are covered in their own guide.
Yes — partners, friends and family are welcome in consultation. The plan and consent remain yours alone, and solo visits are equally ordinary.
Message — a heads-up keeps your slot workable, and the desk talks lost patients in from Seomyeon Station daily. Rescheduling costs nothing because nothing was prepaid.
There is a full library — one hundred-plus guides in the Knowledge Center covering every treatment, comparison and logistics question at depth. This page is the fast version; the library is the thorough one.
Doctor-led planning across six categories. Foreign patients pay the same as local patients — what changes a final figure is units and area, never nationality.
