What is InMode, and what does it do?

InMode is a radiofrequency platform with two handpieces we use together. Forma delivers bipolar RF through a smooth applicator that glides over the face, heating the dermis to the temperature at which collagen contracts and new collagen is triggered. Is InMode a lifting treatment or a skin treatment?

Both, in a modest way, and it is important to be honest about the size of the effect. Forma heats the dermis enough to contract collagen and trigger new collagen, so skin looks tighter and brighter within days; FX reduces small fat pockets under the chin over a course. What it does not do is move the SMAS layer, so a jawline that has dropped needs ultrasound ( Shurink or Ultherapy). Why is InMode so much cheaper than Thermage if both are radiofrequency?

Because they are different doses. The physics is the same family, the depth and the per-session change are not. That is why InMode is priced at ₩220,000 at our Seomyeon skin clinic and why we suggest it as a course or as maintenance rather than as a substitute for a yearly Thermage or Oligio session.

Is a monthly course necessary, or is that a sales structure?

Three sessions four weeks apart is the protocol the device is designed around: each session builds on the collagen response of the last, and a single ten-minute session fades in a few months. That said, a single session is a perfectly good choice for an event or a short trip to Busan, and we sell it as one. Nobody at Boom Dermatology is paid on packages; the doctor writes the plan on your record and you buy sessions one at a time.

Can I combine InMode with HIFU or a stronger RF in the same visit?

Yes, and it is a common pairing. Shurink or Ultherapy first for the SMAS, then InMode for the surface, in the same afternoon. With Oligio or XERF we usually skip InMode on the same day, because both already heat the skin layer, and use InMode as the maintenance in between instead.

Will InMode help oily or acne-prone skin?

Forma's heating has a mild effect on sebum and pore appearance, and some patients choose it for that reason.
