What Mounjaro costs in Busan: clinic fee, pharmacy price, and what to budget.
A month of Mounjaro in Korea is two bills, not one: the clinic's consultation, and the pharmacy's price for four pens at your dose. Neither is a package, neither has a foreigner surcharge, and the second is set by the pharmacy, not by us. Here is how to budget it from abroad, and what to ask any clinic in Busan before you pay.
The question arrives before the medical ones: how much. It deserves a precise answer, and the precise answer is that nobody who sells Mounjaro as a single price in Busan is describing the system honestly. The medicine is prescribed by a clinic and dispensed by a pharmacy, two businesses with two bills, and the only way to budget it from abroad is to understand both. This guide does that, with the honest line on the part our Busan skin clinic controls and the part it does not.
What international patients ask about Mounjaro prices in Korea
How much is a month of Mounjaro in Korea, all in?
Is the consultation expensive, and is it charged if I am declined?
Does the price go up with the dose?
Is it cheaper in Korea than at home?
Will I pay more as a foreigner?
All five come up every week. This page answers them in order.
Why is Mounjaro in Busan two bills, and who sets each?
Korean law separates prescribing from dispensing. The Boom Dermatology
assesses you and writes the prescription, and charges a consultation fee for that work. The pharmacy next door dispenses the pens and charges its own price for them, set by the pharmacy from its wholesale cost, by dose, and changed when the wholesale price changes. The clinic sells no pens, marks nothing up and earns nothing on the medicine, which is the structural reason to trust a Korean prescription: the prescriber has nothing to gain from writing one you should not have.
Three consequences for your budget. The clinic can quote its own fee exactly. It can tell you the pharmacy's current price, but not promise it for next month. And a "Mounjaro package" from a clinic in Busan, a single figure covering medicine and visits, is a sign that the clinic is dispensing, which it should not be.
What is the clinic fee at The Boom in Seomyeon, Busan?
The consultation and assessment with Dr. Kim Dong Hyun, a board-certified internal medicine specialist, is priced at the visit, VAT included, the same for Korean and international patients. It covers the measurement, the history, the contraindication screen, the prescription, the first injection shown if you want it, and the written plan in English. Blood tests, where the history asks for them, are a separate lab fee, ordered only when needed and told to you before they are drawn. The follow-up visit, at which dose and weight are reviewed and the next month prescribed, is priced the same way.
What the consultation is not: a fee for a yes. If the criteria are not met you are told, the reasons go on your record, and the visit is still the visit; but our Seomyeon skin clinic screens by message first, from your height, weight and conditions, precisely so that a patient whose numbers already say no is not charged to hear it in person. Ask us the fee in the first message and you will have it in the reply.
What is the pharmacy price for Mounjaro in Busan, by dose?
The pens come in six strengths, 2.5 mg to 15 mg, four pens to a monthly box, and the pharmacy prices each strength separately, with the higher doses costing more. The pharmacy next door to our Busan skin clinic sets its price from the wholesale cost and tells us the current figure, which our coordinators pass on by message; it is a few hundred thousand won for a month at the starting dose and rises with the dose, and we would rather give you this month's number than print one that will be wrong by the time you read it.

Two things the pharmacy price does not do. It does not change for foreigners; the receipt is the same for everyone. And it does not include a pharmacy consultation fee beyond the dispensing charge that is part of any Korean prescription.
How do you budget a month, three months and a year of Mounjaro from abroad?
One month, one visit:
the consultation fee, any bloods, and the pharmacy price at 2.5 mg or your current dose. That is the whole first bill, and for most visitors it is the only one on the trip. Three months:
three assessments, because a prescription is a month at a time, and three pharmacy bills that rise if the dose steps up; for a visitor that means three trips or a plan that bridges with a prescriber at home, which the doctor discusses honestly. A year:
the medicine dominates the budget and the clinic fees are a small part of it; a plateau dose of 5 to 10 mg for most patients sets the monthly figure, and the face and body treatments that follow weight loss are a separate decision on separate pages.
Ask for two numbers
in the first message: the consultation fee, and the pharmacy's current price at your dose. Any clinic in Busan should give both at once; one that gives a single bundled figure is dispensing.
Is Mounjaro cheaper in Korea than at home?
For patients from countries where tirzepatide is unsubsidised, the pharmacy price in Busan is usually lower, sometimes substantially; for patients whose insurance or health service covers it at home, Korea is not cheaper and the honest reason to get it here is continuity while travelling or living in Busan, not price. We say which applies to you when you tell us where you are from. What Korea does offer every patient is a prescriber who is a specialist in the relevant field, a pharmacy that dispenses a sealed, traceable box, and a price that is the same for everyone, which is worth more than a discount on a pen whose provenance you cannot check.
What are the traps in a Mounjaro quote in Busan?
A single all-in price.
The clinic is dispensing, or reselling; walk away.
A price without a dose.
2.5 mg and 10 mg are different bills; a quote that does not say which is describing the cheapest.
A multi-month supply.
Korean rules allow one month per prescription; more is a rule broken, and the pens are the thing you cannot verify.
A foreigner price.
Neither the clinic fee nor the pharmacy price changes with a passport; ask to see the Korean receipt.
No consultation fee at all.
A clinic that charges nothing for prescribing is earning on something else, and it is the medicine.
What costs come after weight loss: the face and the pockets?
Weight loss has a second bill that nobody quotes at the start, and our Busan skin clinic does, because we treat it. Fast loss empties the face before the body, and restoring it — Sculptra
from ₩495,000 per vial, a little filler
from ₩88,000 per cc, Shurink
from ₩66,000 for the jawline — is on the Mounjaro face page, with VAT-included prices per unit. The pockets the medicine leaves, the double chin above all, are on the fat-dissolving page
from ₩77,000. Neither is required, both are bought one at a time, and the doctor who prescribes your medicine is the one who tells you when, and whether, they are worth it.

Questions patients ask our Busan skin clinic first
1
How much does Mounjaro cost in Busan, Korea?

2
Is the consultation charged if I am declined?
The visit is the visit, but our Busan skin clinic screens by message first so a patient whose numbers already say no is not charged to hear it in person.
3
Does the price rise with the dose?
The pharmacy price does, by strength; the clinic fee does not.
4
Is Mounjaro cheaper in Korea than at home?
