Scaffold threads in Busan Seomyeon
Fine PDO strands braided together like a plait, placed under the skin where volume has thinned: not a lift and not a mesh, but a thicker, longer-lasting scaffold that the skin builds collagen through, filling a hollow temple, a flat cheek or a lined neck over months. Quoted at the consultation by thread count, VAT included, by the doctor at Boom Dermatology, a skin clinic one minute from Seomyeon Station.

What is Scaffold threads, and what does it do?
Scaffold
threads are several thin polydioxanone strands braided
together into one thicker thread, the way hair is plaited, and placed under the skin in the areas that have lost volume or density rather than along a line of drop. The braid does two things a single mono thread cannot. It occupies more space, so there is a small immediate fill where it lies; and it presents far more surface to the tissue, so the collagen the skin builds around it over three months is denser and lasts longer, a year or more against the six to nine months of a mono mesh. It is a filling and firming
thread, the thread-form cousin of a collagen stimulator, and it is placed where a hollow or a thinning shows: the temples, the front of the cheek, the nasolabial area, the neck, the back of the hands.
At Boom Dermatology, Scaffold threads are the choice when a patient wants volume that grows rather than volume that is injected, when filler has been tried and read heavy, or when a lined neck wants density rather than lift. They are quoted at the consultation by count; for a face that has actually dropped, a cog thread, PDO, MINT
or N-Cog; for firmness without needles, RF or HIFU.

Who it suits
Who is Scaffold threads for?
Good candidates
Hollow temples or a flat front cheek that wants volume that grows
A lined, thinning neck that wants density rather than lift
Patients for whom filler read heavy or moved
Thinning hands and the area around the mouth
Patients who want a skin change over months rather than a repositioning
We will suggest something else
A face that has dropped; a braid fills but does not lift, and we say so
A large volume loss that needs filler or a stimulator by the vial
Very thin skin where a braid can be felt or seen
Active infection, keloid tendency, blood thinners without clearance
Pregnancy

The visit
What happens at a Scaffold threads session in Seomyeon?
This is how a Scaffold threads visit runs at Boom Dermatology, a skin clinic in Seomyeon, Busan, from the first message to the review.
1
Message first
Front and side photos in daylight, no make-up, and what has dropped. The doctor replies with whether threads fit, the likely type and count, and the VAT-included quote.
2
Consultation and marking
The drop is mapped with you upright; vectors, thread type and count are drawn on your face and written on your record with the quote.
3
Local anaesthetic
Entry points numbed; forty minutes from marking to the last thread.
4
Threads placed by the doctor
Each thread passed along its vector with a cannula, set and trimmed; the lift is checked in the mirror before the next.
5
Out the door
Mild swelling and tightness; soft food and small expressions for three days; sleep on your back for a few nights; fly out of Busan after 48 hours.
6
Two-week review
Swelling gone, the lift settled; the photo goes on your record, by WhatsApp if you have left Busan, and the maintenance plan is set.
How does Boom Dermatology plan Scaffold threads?
Scaffold threads are planned by area, density and count with you upright; the braid is placed where the hollow or thinning shows, and the count is written before the quote.
A braid, not a line
Several strands plaited into one thread; placed through the hollow rather than along a vector.
By area and loss
Four to twenty by area; written before the quote.
Three months to fill
Collagen builds around the braid; the fill peaks at three months and holds a year or more.

Questions, answered properly
Is this a lift, a filler or something else?
Something else: a scaffold. It does not reposition tissue the way a cog thread does, and it does not add a volume of gel the way filler does; it places a braided thread where the skin has thinned and lets the skin build collagen through it over three months, so the area fills and firms with your own tissue. At Boom Dermatology it is explained as the thread-form of a collagen stimulator, which is what it behaves like.
Scaffold threads or a collagen stimulator for a hollow cheek?
Close, and often both. A stimulator such as Sculptra builds broad volume by the vial and lasts up to two years; Scaffold threads build density along a line and suit a defined hollow, a lined neck or a patient who wants no injectable product. For a temple or a front cheek the doctor at our Seomyeon skin clinic writes both quotes if the choice is yours.
How many threads, and will I feel the braid?
Four to eight for the temples, six to ten a side for the cheek, ten to twenty for the neck; written before the quote. A braid can be felt under thin skin for a few weeks and then softens as collagen surrounds it; it is not placed where it would show.
How long until I see the fill, and how long does it last?
Six weeks for the first change, three months for the peak, a year or more of hold, because the braid dissolves more slowly than a single strand and the collagen it leaves is denser. Repeat when the fill softens; many patients alternate with a booster course.
Can Scaffold be combined with a cog thread lift?
Yes, and it is a common pairing: a cog thread to reposition the drop, Scaffold braids two weeks after to fill the hollow the lift reveals. Patients at Boom Dermatology in Busan planning two visits often do the lift on the first and the fill on the second.
