What is Olidia 120, and what does it do?

Olidia is a Korean PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid) collagen stimulator, MFDS-approved, in two strengths. Olidia 120 is the lower particle concentration, placed more superficially across the whole face for skin quality: firmness, pore refinement, fine lines and the mild hollowing of early deflation. Like all PLLA it adds nothing on the day; fibroblasts build collagen around the particles over six weeks to three months, and the collagen stays after the particles dissolve.

What is the difference between a collagen stimulator and a hydrating booster?

A booster puts something into the skin that works while it is there: hyaluronic acid holds water, polynucleotides signal repair. A stimulator puts in a particle that does nothing itself but makes the skin build collagen around it; the particle dissolves and the collagen stays. Boosters show in days and last months; stimulators show in weeks and last a year or more. At Boom Dermatology Olidia is the mid-strength stimulator.

How is Olidia different from Juvelook and Sculptra?

All three are polylactic acid. Juvelook is PDLLA at a low load in an HA carrier, the entry version. Olidia 120 is PLLA at a moderate load for skin quality; Olidia 240 doubles it for volume. How long until anything is visible?

Six weeks for the first firmness, three months for the peak. The fullness on the day of injection is water and goes down within two days; it is not the result.

Are the lumps I have read about a real risk?

A small, real risk with any PLLA, reduced to rare by three things: conservative dosing, placement in the right plane, and the five-day massage protocol. Nodules that do occur are usually felt rather than seen and respond to massage or a small injection. We explain this before you consent.

Is one vial enough?

One vial gives a visible change in firmness for most faces; a second six weeks later makes it clear and extends it. We sell vials one session at a time.
