Discovery Pico in Busan Seomyeon, toning with power in reserve.

Most toning lasers ask you to trade gentleness for sessions. Discovery Pico carries enough peak power that each low-fluence pass does more — so the course runs shorter, and the same platform escalates to spot work when a stubborn target appears mid-course. ₩200,000 per session at our Busan, Korea clinic. English, 日本語 and 中文 consults. Medically reviewed by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, MD.

Does This Sound Familiar?

What Busan patients ask before booking Discovery Pico.

  • Why would I pay ₩200,000 when your entry toning is ₩20,000?
  • Does higher power mean higher risk on Asian skin?
  • How many fewer sessions does the power actually save?
  • Can it handle a stubborn spot that appears mid-course?
  • Discovery Pico or PicoPlus — you run both, so which is mine?

All five come up most weeks in Busan. The sections below answer them in order — what peak power buys per pass, the safety reasoning behind it, honest session math, the mid-course escalation advantage, and the platform assignment rule.

What Is Discovery Pico?

Peak power, spent gently on purpose.

Discovery Pico (Quanta) is a high peak-power picosecond platform. The pulses are as short as any pico laser, but the energy delivered within each one is substantially higher — which means a pass run at deliberately low fluence still fragments more pigment than an entry platform running near its ceiling.

That reserve changes the shape of a course. Toning runs three to six sessions rather than five to ten, intervals stretch to two to four weeks, and when a stubborn discrete spot surfaces mid-course the same machine escalates without booking you onto another platform. It is the premium end of toning at ₩200,000 per session on our published list — and where the ₩20,000 entry platform serves your pigment equally, the exam at our Busan, Korea clinic says so.

How It Works

The science, without the hype.

Power in reserve, spent deliberately — what that changes at our Busan clinic.

01

High peak power

More energy per picosecond pulse means more pigment fragmented per pass, even at gentle settings.

02

Low fluence by choice

Running a powerful platform gently is safer than running a weak one hard — headroom is a safety feature, not just a speed one.

03

Multiple wavelengths

Different depths and pigment types addressed within one course rather than across two platforms.

04

Mid-course escalation

A stubborn spot appearing during a toning course is treated on the same machine at spot fluence, at the next session.

What Discovery Pico Treats

Toning that finishes in fewer visits.

The examination decides whether power buys you anything — sometimes the honest answer is no.

Your Visit, Step by Step

Six steps at our Busan clinic, ten to twenty-five minutes per pass.

01

Value check

The doctor decides at our Busan clinic whether power actually buys your case anything — and routes simple diffuse tone to the ₩20,000 platform when it does not.

02

Photos and course plan

Fixed-light photos, then wavelength, fluence, session count and price in writing before the first pass.

03

The pass

Ten to twenty-five minutes of low-fluence passes — a light snapping sensation most patients take without numbing.

04

Same-day return

Brief flushing settles within the hour; make-up and normal life resume immediately.

05

The interval

Two to four weeks between sessions — longer than entry toning because each pass does more.

06

Escalation if needed

A stubborn spot found mid-course is treated at spot fluence on the same platform, with its crust days stated in advance.

Discovery Pico Toning Pricing

How much is Discovery Pico toning in Busan?

₩200,000 per session on the published list, with a typical course of three to six sessions written at the exam. Because the course is shorter, total cost lands closer to entry toning than the per-session gap suggests. No foreigner markup.

Your options, side by side.

Discovery Pico against its toning-menu neighbours — all published.

Option Position Price
Discovery Pico High-power pico, shorter course ₩200,000 / session
PicoCare Entry pico toning, longer course ₩20,000 / session
PicoPlus Pico power for spots and ink ₩200,000 / session

Published prices in Korean Won, identical to the list Korean patients see — no foreigner markup. Simple diffuse-tone cases are routinely sent to the ₩20,000 platform, and we say why. See the full price list.

The Shortened Curve

What a course honestly delivers.

When What you will notice What to do
Session 1 Brief flush settling within the hour; skin reads brighter within days rather than weeks. SPF daily from the same evening — it decides whether the course holds.
Session 2–3 The cumulative read arrives earlier than entry toning: tone evener, texture smoother in fixed-light photos. Keep the two-to-four-week interval. Fragments need time to clear.
Session 4–6 The course result — brighter, more uniform skin in fewer total visits. The mid-course photo already decided whether to continue or stop early.
Maintenance Occasional sessions hold it; sun exposure undoes it faster than any platform builds it. Pigment tendency remains — maintenance is stated, not assumed.
Honest Suitability

Who it suits in Busan — and who should wait.

A good fit if you…

  • Diffuse pigment wanting a shorter course than entry toning
  • Visitors who cannot return weekly for a long toning rhythm
  • Mixed cases where a stubborn spot may need escalation mid-course
  • PIH-prone skin benefiting from power headroom used gently
  • Busan visitors — fewer sessions fit a short trip better

Better to wait if you…

  • Pregnancy — deferred as standard
  • Active tan or recent sun — two shaded weeks first, without exception
  • Melasma-dominant pigment — conservative protocols only, never power-chasing
  • Simple diffuse dullness on a flexible schedule — entry toning at ₩20,000 serves you honestly

After your treatment

  • SPF daily without exception through the course
  • Normal skincare from the same evening after toning passes
  • Keep the two-to-four-week interval rather than compressing it
  • Fixed-light photos at each session referee the course

Honest limits

  • Power shortens courses; it does not remove the need for a course
  • Melasma still rebounds at aggressive fluence, whatever the platform
  • Sun exposure undoes pigment results faster than any laser builds them
Our Medical Team

Why pay ₩200,000 when your entry toning is ₩20,000?

Only when the shorter course is worth it to you. Entry pico toning gets most diffuse-tone patients where they want to go across five to ten sessions, and for a Busan resident with a flexible schedule that is the sensible spend. Discovery Pico compresses the same journey into three to six visits because each pass carries more energy, which matters enormously if you are visiting Korea for two weeks or cannot commit to a weekly rhythm. It also escalates to spot work without switching machines. At our Busan clinic I state both totals — sessions times price — and let the arithmetic and your calendar decide.

From the Founder

Assigned and treated in person by one of our doctors.

Power headroom is the most misunderstood spec on a laser. Patients hear "stronger" and think risk; I hear it and think restraint — a machine running comfortably below its ceiling behaves more predictably than a weak one pushed to the edge. That is the argument for this platform, and it is a safety argument before it is a speed one.

Quick Answers

Does higher power mean higher risk on Asian skin?

Not when the power is held in reserve, which is the point of the platform. Risk on pigment-prone skin comes from thermal load and from running a laser at the top of its range, not from what the machine could theoretically deliver. A high peak-power picosecond platform run deliberately at low fluence produces less thermal spread per unit of pigment cleared than a weaker machine pushed hard to achieve the same effect. At our Busan clinic settings are type-matched, test passes precede courses, and melasma-dominant skin is routed away from power settings entirely.

Discovery Pico or PicoPlus — which is mine?

Both are high-power picosecond platforms sitting at the same ₩200,000 session price, so the choice is purely clinical. Discovery Pico is assigned where toning is the primary job and power buys a shorter course; PicoPlus is assigned where the target is consolidated pigment, tattoo ink, or fractional texture work. Cases that start as one and turn into the other are common, and owning both at our Busan clinic means the switch costs you nothing but a note in the plan.

Everything Else You Might Ask

Discovery Pico questions in Busan.

₩200,000 per session on the published list, with a typical three-to-six-session course written at the exam. No foreigner markup.

Yes — English, Japanese (日本語) and Chinese (中文). We are a 5-minute walk from Seomyeon Station Exit 2, and course photos are reviewed on WhatsApp after you fly home from Busan.

At our Busan clinic it fragments more pigment per pass, so the same gentle fluence achieves more. Practically that means shorter courses and longer intervals between sessions at our Busan clinic.

Diffuse pigment, uneven tone and surface texture at our Busan clinic, with the ability to escalate to discrete spot work on the same platform mid-course.

Toning passes need no numbing for most patients — a light snapping sensation. Spot-fluence escalation is numbed and carries its own crust days.

None to one day for toning passes beyond brief flushing. Spot escalation crusts for three to five days, stated in advance.

Three to six for most Busan toning courses, two to four weeks apart, written before you start — fewer than entry platforms require.

Brightening reads within days of the first session and builds cumulatively; the fixed-light photo at session three is the honest verdict.

Yes with type-matched low fluence — power held in reserve produces less thermal spread than a weaker machine pushed hard, which is the core safety argument.

Conservatively and with screening only. Melasma rebounds under aggressive fluence regardless of platform, and melasma-dominant cases follow melasma-specific protocols instead.

Only if a shorter course matters to you — visitors and busy schedules benefit most. Residents with flexible calendars are routinely sent to the ₩20,000 platform instead.

Yes — sun-accumulated tone and post-shaving pigment book steadily among men at our Busan clinic.

Partly — the two-to-four-week interval means most visitors bank one or two sessions and complete by message-refereed photos, still fewer visits than entry toning needs.

Sun and self-tanner for two weeks, retinoids for a few days, and any fresh irritation on the treatment zone.

Unprotected sun above all — SPF daily is the whole aftercare for toning passes.

Brighter, more even tone and smoother texture across three to six sessions in fixed-light photos. What no honest clinic promises: a course compressed into one visit, melasma cured, or results that survive without sun discipline.
