01 Start here — Direct answer

What is the difference between Rejuran, Juvelook and Sculptra, and which do I need?

They do three different jobs. Rejuran (polynucleotides from salmon DNA) repairs: thin, reactive, acne-damaged or sun-damaged skin becomes thicker and calmer over a course. Juvelook (PDLLA plus hyaluronic acid) and the PLLA products Sculptra , Olidia and Gana V stimulate: they make the skin grow its own collagen, so texture, pores and mild volume loss improve over six weeks to three months. Radiesse and Ellansé rebuild: calcium or polycaprolactone scaffolds that restore contour and keep building for a year or more. At Boom Dermatology in Seomyeon the doctor matches the product to the problem, prices run from ₩110,000 for Juvelook Skin 1cc to ₩1,100,000 for a Sculptra vial, VAT included, and nothing is sold as a package.

02 Choose — By goal

Which skin booster is right for your skin?

Repair first: polynucleotides calm and thicken.

Dull skin, pores, a glass-skin finish

Crepey, tired under-eyes

Thicken the skin rather than fill the hollow.

A face that has deflated, gradually and naturally

PLLA builds your own collagen over months.

Jawline, cheek or hand contour that lasts

Acne scars and damaged skin from years of treatment

Repair and regeneration over a course.

04 The visit

What does a skin booster visit in Seomyeon look like?

1

Message first

A daylight photo and what bothers you: texture, thinness, dullness, volume. The doctor replies with the product, the unit and the VAT-included price.

2

Consultation

Skin thickness, reactivity, scars and volume are assessed; repair, stimulation or rebuild is chosen; the plan goes on your record.

3

Numbing cream, twenty to thirty minutes

Topical anaesthetic; boosters are many small injections.

4

Injection by the doctor

Microdroplets across the face for boosters; deeper, fewer points for stimulators. Twenty to forty minutes.

5

Out the door

Small bumps or pinpricks for one to three days with boosters; mild swelling with stimulators. No make-up for a few hours, no sauna for a day.

6

Review

Two weeks for boosters, six weeks for stimulators. The next session, if planned, is set then.

How many booster sessions do I need, and how far apart?

Repair boosters (Rejuran, BYRYZN) work as a course of three, two to four weeks apart, then one maintenance session every three to six months; the skin thickens cumulatively and a single session shows glow but not structural change. Stimulators (Juvelook, Sculptra, Olidia, Gana V) are usually one to two sessions six weeks apart, because the collagen they trigger keeps building for three months after the last one. Rebuilders (Radiesse, Ellansé) are one session, repeated after a year or more. At Boom Dermatology every session is bought one at a time and the plan is written on your record.

Will I have visible bumps on my face after a booster?

With Rejuran and the PN boosters, yes, for a day or two: tiny wheals at each injection point that flatten as the product absorbs, visible up close on day one, gone by day three. They are the sign the product is in the dermis where it works. Juvelook and HA boosters leave pinpricks rather than wheals; stimulators leave mild swelling without bumps. Plan boosters at least three days before anything you want to look perfect for, and five if your skin bruises easily.

What can skin boosters not do?

They cannot lift a dropped jawline, fill a deep fold, freeze a wrinkle or remove pigment. Boosters change the quality of the skin itself: thickness, hydration, texture, fine lines, the way light reflects. A face that has sagged wants lifting; a hollow wants filler; a line on expression wants Botox; brown patches want lasers. Boosters are often the last layer on top of those, and the doctor at our Seomyeon skin clinic will say which comes first.

Who skin boosters suit, and who should wait

Good candidates

  • Thin, dull, dehydrated or reactive skin that lasers and lifting have not addressed
  • Acne-damaged or sun-damaged skin wanting repair over a course
  • Crepey under-eyes where filler would be wrong
  • Mild volume loss wanting a gradual, natural rebuild (PLLA, PCL, CaHA)
  • Patients maintaining results between lifting or laser sessions

We will suggest waiting, or something else

  • A dropped face or deep folds, which want lifting or filler first
  • Active acne flare, infection or cold sores
  • Known allergy to fish protein (Rejuran) or to a stimulator component
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding; blood thinners without clearance
  • Keloid tendency or autoimmune skin disease for stimulators; the doctor checks

How does Boom Dermatology choose a booster?

Three questions decide the product, and the answers go on your record.

Repair, stimulate or rebuild

Thin and reactive wants polynucleotides. Dull with pores wants PDLLA. Deflated wants PLLA, PCL or CaHA.

Depth and dose

Microdroplets in the dermis for boosters; deeper, fewer points for stimulators. Units per area are written down.

Course and calendar

Three sessions two to four weeks apart for boosters; six-week intervals for stimulators; bumps three days before an event.

Every vial is opened in front of you from sealed, labelled packaging; product, lot and units per area go on your record in English. Nobody at Boom is paid per vial.

05 Combine — Same day or spaced

Can skin boosters be combined with other treatments in one Busan visit?

Works well in the same visit

  • Any RF or ultrasound lifting first, then a booster the same day once the skin has cooled
  • Pico toning first, then Rejuran or Juvelook after
  • Botox in a different plane the same day
  • Skin Botox and a PN booster in one microdroplet session

Better spaced apart

  • HA filler in the same area on the same day as a stimulator; two weeks apart
  • RF microneedling or ablative laser over fresh stimulator for four weeks
  • Facials or massage on the area for a week
  • Two stimulators (Sculptra and Radiesse) in the same area in one session

Tell us your dates in the first message. A lifting-plus-booster afternoon is the most common two-treatment plan at our Seomyeon skin clinic.

06 Downtime — And flying home

Downtime after skin boosters, and flying home

Boosters: tiny bumps or pinpricks for one to three days, a possible bruise. Stimulators: mild swelling for one to two days. Flying the same evening is fine; make-up from the next morning. The result timeline is the difference: boosters show at two weeks, stimulators at six weeks to three months.
