Cheap or premium treatment in Busan Seomyeon, and where the difference is real.
Some price gaps buy capability, some buy a name, and some signal a problem. This sorts the thirty-four treatments here into those three categories so a budget goes where it changes something.
Patients with a fixed budget make better decisions than patients with an unlimited one, because they have to rank. This page is the ranking we would give: what to spend on, what to economise on, and what to walk away from.
Does This Sound Familiar?
What patients ask about value
Is the expensive version actually better?
I found the same treatment for a third of the price elsewhere.
I have a set budget. Where should it go?
Does a higher price mean a better doctor?
What is too cheap to be safe?
All five come up most weeks, and the second one has an answer that depends entirely on what is different. The sections below sort it.
Where paying more genuinely changes the result
Coverage, above everything. An adequate shot count on lifting
or an adequate unit count on botox
is what determines whether anything happens — and buying enough of a mid-tier treatment beats buying too little of a premium one every time. After that: imaging on HIFU, which improves consistency; and structural filler for areas needing precise, predictable shape.
Where the premium buys a brand
Between comparable products in the same category. Allergan against a Korean toxin is a few weeks of duration rather than a different result. Thermage
against Oligio
is refinement and comfort rather than mechanism. Imported filler against Korean filler at the same G-prime is clinical record rather than performance. Each of those gaps is real and much smaller than the price difference implies — see botox brands compared.
Where a low price is a warning
Below the market floor for an imported approved product, since the product itself has a cost. That is where refilled HIFU cartridges, counterfeit toxin and grey-market filler enter. The defence is physical rather than analytical — ask to see the box, the lot number, the cartridge counter — and it works regardless of what the website claims. See safety standards.
Where cheap is genuinely fine
Korean-manufactured products across most categories. Shurink
for HIFU, Oligio
for monopolar RF, Korean toxins for large muscles like masseter
and calf, and Korean filler for most areas. These are MFDS-approved, used at enormous domestic volume, and are what most Korean patients receive — see MFDS approval.
Why does coverage keep coming up?
Because it is the variable that decides whether a treatment does anything, and the one most easily hidden in a headline price. A HIFU package at three hundred lines and one at six hundred can be advertised with the same words; a botox quote for a jaw at twenty units and one at forty look identical on a menu. Clinics competing on displayed price have an obvious incentive to reduce the number that is not displayed. Every comparison on this page returns to it for that reason — get the count first and the price becomes meaningful.
Every figure published, so the comparison is possible
Where does the biggest waste actually happen?
Not in choosing a cheaper brand — in treating the wrong thing. A perfectly delivered premium filler
placed for pigmentation, or an expensive lifting
session on a face whose problem is deflation, wastes the entire amount regardless of what was paid. That is why consultation time is the one item on this page we would never economise on, and why a clinic that moves quickly from your stated request to a price has skipped the step that determines whether any of the money works — see how a consultation works.
Does a higher price mean a better doctor?
Not reliably, and this is where price signals least. Clinic pricing reflects rent, district, marketing spend and product tier far more than it reflects who is holding the needle. Gangnam carries a premium that Seomyeon does not for reasons unrelated to skill — see Busan or Seoul. What does correlate with outcome is whether a doctor performs the treatment and whether the assessment happened.
How should a fixed budget be allocated?
One thing properly rather than three things partially. A single adequate lifting session beats three inadequate ones. A complete toning course
beats two sessions of something more expensive. Where a patient names a total and asks what to do with it, the answer is almost always to narrow the plan rather than to distribute it — see what a no-upsell policy means.
What should never be economised on?
Three things. Who performs the treatment, since dose and placement decide the outcome. Consultation time, because treating the wrong cause is the most expensive mistake available. And the under-eye and nose specifically, where the anatomy is unforgiving and a saving is not worth the risk — see nose filler or rhinoplasty.
How do I compare two clinics fairly?
Convert both to the same units. Unit count and product name for injectables, shot count and depths for energy, session count and total for a course. Two quotes are not comparable until those are known, and a clinic that provides them readily is describing what you are buying — see how to read a price list.
What does our own pricing reflect?
Product tier and unit count, with the same published figures for foreign and local patients. We stock accessible and premium options in each category and name both, because a patient who buys adequate coverage on a Korean device gets a better result than one who buys a thin package on an imported one — and saying so occasionally costs us the larger booking. The full price list
is published so that comparison can be made before you arrive.
Our Medical Team
Who will actually treat you at JRYN Seomyeon?
A doctor, in person, every time — never a nurse or a coordinator. JRYN Seomyeon has three doctors, and the clinic was founded by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, who still consults here. What you actually need is decided during the consultation after your skin is examined, not from a fixed package chosen in advance.
Three doctors, one standard of care.
Every treatment plan at JRYN Seomyeon is decided and performed in person by one of our doctors — led by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, founder of JRYN Dermatology.
From the Founder
The consultation is the treatment.
Most patients arrive asking for a specific treatment. My job is to check whether it is the right one for what they actually have. Getting that wrong is the most common mistake I correct.

Before You Book
Questions patients ask first.
Not by virtue of origin. MFDS approval applies the same standard regardless of manufacturer, and the difference is usually clinical record length rather than performance — see MFDS approval.
Rent, marketing spend and district positioning rather than clinical difference. The device range and product access are broadly the same — see Busan or Seoul.
Where a treatment genuinely needs a course, a course rate is reasonable. Where four treatments are bundled at a price that only works if you commit today, that is a structure rather than a saving.
No. The published figures are what local patients pay. Separate foreign pricing is legal in Korea and exists elsewhere, so asking directly is worth the ten seconds — see what foreign patients actually pay.
Depends on the concern, though botox
is the most consistent — low cost, reversible by expiry, and the effect is unambiguous. For skin, a toning course
produces the most visible change per won for most patients.
Only indirectly, where it buys genuine product and an experienced injector. It does not buy either automatically, which is why the physical checks matter more than the figure.
Korean clinics do not price by negotiation, and a figure that drops substantially on request was arbitrary to begin with. Asking about product tiers or course rates is a different and reasonable question.
Then the ranking question matters most — ask which single treatment addresses the concern that bothers you most. A clear answer to that is one of the better tests of a consultation.
Doctor-led planning across six categories. Foreign patients pay the same as local patients — what changes a final figure is units and area, never nationality.
