Weight loss in Busan Seomyeon, prescribed by an internal medicine specialist
Mounjaro in Korea is a prescription written after an in-person assessment by a doctor, not a product bought over a counter, and that is how it is done at Boom Dermatology: an internal medicine specialist assesses you, prescribes when the criteria are met, and treats what weight loss does to the face afterwards, in a skin clinic one minute from Seomyeon Station, with no foreigner surcharge.

How does Mounjaro prescribing work in Busan for an international patient?
Mounjaro
(tirzepatide) is a once-weekly injection that acts on the GLP-1 and GIP hormones that regulate appetite and blood sugar, and in Korea it is a prescription medicine with rules: assessed in person
by a doctor, prescribed where the body mass index is 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes or sleep apnoea, dispensed by a pharmacy
rather than sold by the clinic, and reviewed. At Boom Dermatology the doctor who assesses you is an internal medicine specialist, which is the right specialty for a metabolic medicine, and the assessment covers your weight history, medications, the conditions that rule it out and the bloods that are sometimes needed before starting. The Mounjaro page
sets out the criteria, the visit and the pharmacy step; the guide for international patients
covers supply, customs and what a visitor can and cannot take home.
The reason a skin clinic in Busan prescribes it is what happens next. Fast weight loss empties the face before the body, and the hollowing
and laxity
that result, the look the internet calls Ozempic face, are treated here with Sculptra, filler
and lifting devices
on the Mounjaro face page. And the pockets the medicine does not reach, the double chin, the bra line, the inner knee, are addressed with fat-dissolving injections
timed around the medication on the combination page. Weight loss, the face and the body are one plan from one doctor.

Weight and BMI measured, history taken, contraindications checked, bloods where indicated; the internal medicine specialist decides, and says why.
3
Prescription and pharmacy
One month at a time, at the starting dose or your current one with evidence; dispensed by the pharmacy next door at the Korean price; the first injection shown.
4
Follow-up and the face
Dose reviewed at the next visit; the face and the pockets assessed as the weight comes off, and treated on their own pages when the time is right.
Can a visitor just buy Mounjaro in Korea?
No. It is a prescription medicine, prescribed after an in-person assessment against criteria the doctor does not bend, dispensed by a pharmacy, and limited to a month per prescription with a follow-up. A clinic in Busan that sells it from the counter, by message, or without measuring you is breaking the rules, and the medicine it sells is the one thing you cannot check. At Boom Dermatology the assessment is by an internal medicine specialist, the criteria are on the Mounjaro page, and the answer is sometimes no.
Why does weight loss show in the face first?
Because facial fat is in small, discrete compartments that empty quickly, and the skin over them, already thinner with age, does not shrink back at the same speed. The result is hollow temples and cheeks, deeper folds and a looser jawline at a weight the body is happy with. It is treated once the weight has settled, usually two to three months into a plateau: Sculptra for volume that grows back as collagen, a little filler where a hollow is sharp, HIFU or RF for the laxity, and the sequence is on the Mounjaro face page.
Why do some pockets stay after the weight has gone?
Because some fat is structural: the submental pocket under the chin, the bra-line roll, the inner knee and the lower abdomen are deposits that genetics keeps when the rest has gone, and a medicine that lowers appetite does not pick which fat to lose. Those are the pockets fat-dissolving injections are for, timed so that the medication and the injections are not both pulling on the same tissue in the same week; the combination page
sets the timing.
Who the weight-loss section suits, and who should start elsewhere
Good candidates
Adults with a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition
Patients already on tirzepatide who need a month of continuity in Korea, with evidence of the current dose
International patients who want the medicine prescribed properly rather than bought
Patients whose face or body has not kept up with their weight loss
Residents of Busan who want weight, face and body managed by one doctor
We will suggest waiting, or something else
Below the criteria; the doctor will say so and the pages explain why
Pregnancy, breastfeeding or planning pregnancy
A personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2; a history of pancreatitis
Type 1 diabetes, or on insulin without a prescriber managing it
Anyone wanting a supply to resell or carry for others; declined
How does Boom Dermatology prescribe weight-loss medication?
Three rules, applied in person at our Busan skin clinic and written on your record in English.
An internal medicine specialist
A metabolic medicine assessed by the specialty that manages metabolism; the criteria applied as written.
Pharmacy, not counter
The clinic prescribes; the pharmacy dispenses at the Korean price; the clinic earns nothing on the medicine.
A month, then a review
One prescription at a time; dose, weight and side effects reviewed; the face and body planned as the weight settles.
The doctor will decline to prescribe when the criteria are not met, and says so in the first message where the numbers already show it, so nobody flies to Busan for a no.

Combine — Same day or spaced
Can weight-loss medication be combined with face and body treatments in one Busan visit?
Works well in the same visit
The assessment and a face consultation the same day
Mounjaro and a lifting device for laxity the same visit
Mounjaro and Sculptra or filler once the weight has plateaued
Fat-dissolving injections timed to the medication, on the combination page
Better spaced apart
Filler into a face that is still emptying; it chases the loss
Fat-dissolving in the same week as a dose increase with nausea
Any treatment while dehydrated or unwell on the medicine
A surgical consultation for skin that may yet retract; wait for the plateau
Tell us your current weight, dose and dates in the first message. Most patients at our Seomyeon skin clinic start the medicine on one visit and treat the face on a later one.

Downtime — And flying home
Side effects, downtime and flying home
Mounjaro: nausea, reduced appetite and digestive upset in the first weeks, worst after a dose increase, and no downtime; the first injection is shown at the clinic and the rest are weekly at home. Face and body treatments at Boom Dermatology in Busan: none to three days, on their own pages. Fly the same evening after any of them.
