Duration · Seomyeon, Busan · Foreigner-Friendly

How long results last in Busan Seomyeon, and what actually shortens them.

A single table would be misleading, because duration varies by area, by product and by patient more than most published figures admit. This gives realistic ranges with the reasons behind them.

Published durations are usually the upper end of a range presented as a typical figure. What follows is the range we would quote a patient in the room, plus the variables that decide where in that range you land.

Does This Sound Familiar?

What patients ask about duration

  • My botox seemed to wear off faster than everyone says.
  • Is it worth paying more for something that lasts longer?
  • Do results get better if I keep repeating?
  • Why does the same treatment last different lengths on different areas?
  • When exactly should I book the next one?

All five come up most weeks, and the third has a more interesting answer than yes or no. The sections below take them in order.

How long does botox last?

Three to four months for facial lines, four to six for jaw and calf, and six to eight for underarm hyperhidrosis. The difference is muscle size and use — a large muscle takes longer to rebuild bulk once it has been out of action, while the frontalis works constantly and recovers fastest. Microbotox sits at around three months because sebaceous glands recover quickly.

How long does filler last?

Six to nine months for lips, nine to twelve for under-eye, and twelve to eighteen for chin, nose and midface. Movement is the variable — lip tissue is in constant motion and metabolises hyaluronic acid faster, while structural filler on bone barely moves. Patients who exercise heavily break filler down faster everywhere.

How long does lifting last?

Nine to twelve months for Shurink, twelve to eighteen for Ultherapy, Sofwave and Volnewmer, twelve to twenty-four for Thermage FLX. What fades is not the treatment but the collagen it built, turning over at its natural rate. Patients who start younger and protect from sun hold longer, which is a genuine argument for treating before laxity is obvious.

How long do boosters and stimulators last?

Six to nine months for Rejuran after a completed course, eight to twelve for Healer, one to two months for water glow and around six for Skinvive. Collagen stimulators are the outliers — Juvelook at twelve to eighteen months and Sculptra at two years or more, because what persists is your own collagen rather than a product.

Why does the first round often last less?

Because the tissue starts from an untreated baseline. This is clearest with jaw botox — a masseter that has been clenching for years rebuilds quickly on the first round, while one that has been out of heavy use for eighteen months takes longer. The same applies to lifting, where each session builds on collagen formed by the previous one. Second and third rounds commonly stretch further on fewer units.

Does paying more mean lasting longer?

Sometimes, and it is worth being specific about when. Structural filler with a higher G-prime genuinely holds longer than a soft product, and PLLA outlasts hyaluronic acid by years because the mechanism differs. Where price does not buy duration is between comparable products in the same category — Allergan against a Korean toxin gains a few weeks for many patients, not months. The price list makes that comparison possible.

What shortens results?

Metabolism, heat and movement. Heavy exercise breaks filler and toxin down faster in a way that is measurable rather than theoretical. Saunas and hot yoga accelerate both. Sun exposure degrades the collagen that lifting and stimulators built. And smoking shortens almost everything by impairing the collagen response. None of these are reasons to change your life, but they explain a shorter result rather than leaving you to assume the treatment failed.

Why does duration vary so much between patients?

Three variables account for most of it. Metabolic rate, which is largely genetic and explains why two patients given identical doses report results months apart. Muscle strength, which determines how quickly a treated muscle regains function — a strong frown recovers faster than a weak one. And tissue movement, which is why lip filler in a person who talks for a living behaves differently from the same volume in someone who does not. None of these are things you chose, and none of them mean the treatment was performed badly.

Should I judge duration from the first session?

Not reliably. First rounds run shorter across most treatments for reasons that disappear afterwards — untreated muscle rebuilds quickly, a first lifting session has no existing collagen to build on, and a first filler placement integrates into tissue that has never held product. Judging your personal duration from round one and concluding a treatment is not worth repeating is a common error. The second round is the honest measure, and by the third most patients have a reliable interval they can plan around.

When should I book the next session?

When the change returns, not on a calendar. Botox is the clearest case — re-treating on a fixed three-month schedule when movement has not returned wastes product, while waiting until lines are fully back means starting from the beginning. The useful marker is the point where you first notice it rather than the point where it bothers you. Your notes record what you had and when, which makes that judgement easier on a repeat visit.

Do results accumulate over years?

For collagen-based treatments, genuinely yes. A face treated with energy lifting annually for three years holds better than one treated once, because each round builds on the last. Filler and toxin do not accumulate in the same way, though consistent botox does slow the deepening of static lines over years. What does not happen is the reverse — stopping does not leave you worse than if you had never started.

Our Medical Team

Who will actually treat you at JRYN Seomyeon?

A doctor, in person, every time — never a nurse or a coordinator. JRYN Seomyeon has three doctors, and the clinic was founded by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, who still consults here. What you actually need is decided during the consultation after your skin is examined, not from a fixed package chosen in advance.

Three doctors, one standard of care.

Every treatment plan at JRYN Seomyeon is decided and performed in person by one of our doctors — led by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, founder of JRYN Dermatology.

From the Founder

The consultation is the treatment.

Most patients arrive asking for a specific treatment. My job is to check whether it is the right one for what they actually have. Getting that wrong is the most common mistake I correct.

Questions patients ask first.

Most published durations are the upper end presented as typical. Individual variation is genuinely wide, and metabolism, muscle strength and lifestyle move it more than product choice does. A shorter result is usually normal variation rather than something going wrong.

Placement does. Product placed at the wrong depth breaks down faster and produces less effect for the same amount — which is why dose and depth matter more than brand. Duration is one of the quieter indicators of technique.

For filler and lifting, often yes — building on residual product or existing collagen is more efficient than starting fresh. For botox, waiting until movement returns is better, since treating too early raises the theoretical resistance risk without adding effect.

No, and this is a common worry. Muscle returns to its natural size, filler metabolises away, collagen turns over. You return to your baseline rather than below it — often slightly better, since the intervening years were spent with less movement creasing the skin.

Sculptra at two years or more, because the volume is your own collagen. Thermage FLX at up to twenty-four months among energy devices. Aptos threads at around two years among lifting options.

Not necessarily — value is duration against cost, and a cheaper treatment repeated twice can outperform one expensive session. Shurink twice yearly is a common example that works well at accessible pricing.

Sun protection, stable weight and avoiding heat immediately after treatment. Those three cover most of what is within your control. Beyond that, treating before laxity is advanced holds better than treating after.

Compare photographs rather than memory, taken in the same lighting. Gradual change is close to invisible day to day, which is why patients frequently underestimate how much a treatment did until they look back.
