That evenness is what lets the same machine run gentle toning passes and higher-fluence spot work without behaving unpredictably between them.

Practically it covers three jobs: the low-fluence toning rhythm for diffuse tone, higher-fluence passes for discrete spots, and tattoo ink clearance across a graded course. Character rather than category. Both are Q-switched Nd:YAG, both run 1064nm and 532nm, and their toning results overlap honestly. Helios has a beam and handpiece behaviour I prefer for pore-focused toning; Revlite's even energy profile and tattoo capability make it the more versatile all-rounder, at half the session price. So the assignment at our Busan clinic follows the case: pore-led toning tends toward one machine, mixed pigment-and-ink work toward the other, and where either serves I recommend the ₩99,000 option and say why.

Does tattoo work here need more sessions than a pico laser?

Often somewhat more, and the honest reason is mechanism. Picosecond pulses fragment ink into smaller particles, which your immune system clears more readily, so pico courses tend to run shorter on comparable tattoos. Q-switched clearance still works — it removed tattoos for decades before pico existed — and at ₩99,000 versus ₩200,000 per session the total cost can land similarly. At our Busan clinic we grade the tattoo, state the realistic session range for each platform, and let you choose with both numbers in front of you.

Is 532nm risky on my skin type?

It requires respect rather than avoidance. The 532nm wavelength is absorbed by melanin as well as by target pigment, so on darker and tanned skin it must be dosed conservatively and is not used at all where melasma dominates. Our standing rules at our Busan clinic: a strict two-week no-tan window, test pulses before any 532nm pass, and honest screening that routes melasma-dominant cases away from this setting entirely rather than treating them cautiously and hoping.
