What is Fotona Titanium Lifting, and what does it do?

Fotona Titanium Lifting uses the Fotona Quattro platform's 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser in its ultra-long-pulse mode. Instead of firing shots at points, the laser sweeps the face in slow passes, raising the temperature of the deep dermis gradually and evenly until collagen contracts. The dose is measured in kilojoules delivered to the face, 40 kJ for a standard session and 60 kJ for a fuller one, and because the heating is gradual there is no pain, no numbing and no mark afterwards. The name comes from the Korean market; the device is Fotona's.

At Boom Dermatology in Seomyeon we suggest Titanium Lifting to patients who dislike the sensation of HIFU, who want firmer, brighter skin rather than a structural lift, and who prefer a course of gentle sessions to one strong one. It tightens the skin layer much as radiofrequency does, with a mild improvement in tone and pores. For a jawline that has dropped we point you to ultrasound; for the strongest single-session skin tightening, to Thermage or XERF.

What Busan patients ask before Fotona Titanium Lifting
  • HIFU hurt and I do not want to go through that again.
  • I want firmer skin, not a surgical-looking lift.
  • Is laser lifting a real thing or a facial with a laser?
  • Can I do this and fly tonight?
  • Is 60 kJ better than 40, or just more expensive?

All of these come up most weeks at our Seomyeon skin clinic. The page answers them in order.

02 Who it suits

How does Boom Dermatology dose Fotona Titanium Lifting?

Skin and pigment

Darker or recently tanned skin takes a lower fluence with more passes; the doctor checks before firing.

40 or 60 kJ

40 kJ is the full-face standard; 60 kJ for thicker, more lax skin or when the neck is added.

07 Questions, answered properly

Is laser lifting a real lifting treatment?

It is a real skin-tightening treatment, and an honest page should say what that means. Long-pulse Nd:YAG heats the dermis evenly to the temperature at which collagen contracts and remodels, so skin becomes firmer and brighter over a course. It does not move the SMAS, so it will not lift a jawline that has dropped; that is ultrasound territory. At Boom Dermatology we use Titanium Lifting for skin quality and early laxity and pair it with HIFU when the deeper layer needs work.

Is 60 kJ better than 40 kJ?

It is more energy, not a better treatment. 40 kJ is the standard dose for a full face of average thickness; 60 kJ is for thicker or more lax skin, or when the neck is added. The doctor decides from your skin, and will not sell 60 to a thin face that only needs 40.

Why choose Titanium over Oligio or Thermage at a similar price?

Comfort and sensation. Titanium is a warm sweep with no shots, no numbing and no pinpoint heat, which some patients strongly prefer. Monopolar RF delivers a stronger single-session tightening that lasts longer. If you can tolerate RF and want one session a year, choose Oligio; if you want a gentle course and zero sensation, choose Titanium.

Can I combine Titanium Lifting with other treatments in one visit?

Yes. Shurink or Ultherapy first for the SMAS, Titanium afterwards for the skin layer, in the same afternoon. Botox the same day after the skin cools; filler two weeks apart. Toning lasers and Titanium are usually spaced two weeks apart to avoid stacking heat on pigment.

Is it safe on darker or Asian skin?

Yes; 1064 nm Nd:YAG is the wavelength chosen for darker skin because it is absorbed less by melanin. The doctor still checks for a recent tan and for melasma, and lowers the fluence or postpones if the skin has had sun in the last two weeks.

Does it hurt?

No. A warm sweep with no shots, no numbing and no pinpoint heat. Most patients find it relaxing.

6

Is it safe on Asian or tanned skin?

The doctor, with the energy and passes set from your skin and written on your record.
