Crow's Feet · Seomyeon, Busan · Foreigner-Friendly

Crow's feet in Busan Seomyeon, the lines you earned, softened not erased.

Lines that appear only when you smile are muscle, and they answer to botox within two weeks. Lines that stay when your face is still are etched into skin, and they need something else entirely. Telling them apart is the whole consultation. Botox from ₩10,000 at our Busan, Korea clinic. English, 日本語 and 中文 consults. Medically reviewed by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, MD.

Does This Sound Familiar?

What Busan patients ask before treating crow's feet.

  • Will treatment make my smile look frozen or unnatural?
  • My lines stay even when I am not smiling — is that different?
  • Am I too young, or too late, for this?
  • Does treating them early actually prevent deeper lines?
  • Why is eye-area botox cheaper here than I expected?

All five come up most weeks in Busan. The sections below answer them in order — how expression is protected, the etched-line distinction, timing at any age, the honest prevention answer, and what the price reflects.

What Are Crow's Feet?

Two line types, sharing one corner.

The orbicularis oculi encircles each eye and contracts every time you smile, squint or laugh — folding the skin at the outer corner. In younger skin those folds vanish the moment the muscle relaxes. Over years of repetition, and as collagen thins, some of them stop vanishing.

So there are two problems wearing one name. Dynamic lines appear only in expression and respond directly to botox, from ₩10,000 on our published list. Static lines remain at rest, etched into the skin itself, and need skin-side work — boosters, laser or fine filler — because relaxing a muscle does not undo a crease already formed. Most eyes carry both, and at our Busan, Korea clinic the grading names the proportions before treatment.

How It Works

The science, without the hype.

Muscle or skin — the distinction deciding the tool at our Busan clinic.

01

Dynamic lines

Appear only during expression. Botox eases orbicularis contraction and they soften within two weeks.

02

Static lines

Remain at rest, etched into skin. These need skin-side treatment because muscle relaxation alone will not remove them.

03

Combined approach

Botox stops etching from deepening while skin work addresses what is already there.

04

Expression preserved

Doses are placed laterally and kept modest so the eyes still smile — a frozen eye area is a dosing failure, not a stronger result.

The Two Types

Graded in a smile, and in stillness.

The examination photographs you smiling and at rest — the difference between the two decides the plan.

01

Expression grading

The doctor photographs you smiling and at rest at our Busan clinic — the gap between the two images is the diagnosis.

02

Photos and written plan

Fixed-frame expression photos, then tools, dosing and price in writing.

03

Lateral micro-dosing

Botox placed laterally in modest doses — five to ten minutes, no numbing required.

04

No downtime; occasional pinpoint marks fade within the hour.

05

The two-week read

Effect settles by week two — lines softened, eyes still smiling. The only honest judging point.

06

Skin-side work if needed

Static lines are addressed separately once the muscular component has settled.

The Softening Curve

What treatment honestly delivers.

When What you will notice What to do
Day 1–4 Nothing visible yet; occasional pinpoint marks gone within hours. Normal life immediately. No rubbing the eye area on the day.
Week 1–2 Dynamic lines soften — the smile is intact but the fan of lines is much reduced. Judge at week two, smiling, in a photo rather than a mirror.
Week 2 review The honest verdict and the point where any conservative top-up is decided. Static lines are assessed here too, now that the muscle is quiet.
Month 3–4 Gradual return as the muscle recovers; regular treatment slows further etching. Duration is a range; repeat sessions often hold slightly longer.
Honest Suitability

Who it suits in Busan — and who should wait.

A good fit if you…

  • Lines fanning from the outer eye when you smile
  • Wanting softening without any loss of expression
  • Early lines where regular treatment slows further etching
  • Etched resting lines wanting an honest two-part plan
  • Busan visitors — five minutes, no downtime, result reads from home

Better to wait if you…

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding — deferred as standard
  • Active eye-area infection or dermatitis — settled first
  • Heavy lower-lid laxity or bags — those grade differently and are assessed separately
  • Expecting etched lines erased by botox — the grading states that distinction first

After your treatment

  • No rubbing the eye area on the day of treatment
  • Normal expression immediately — the dosing was mapped for it
  • SPF and sunglasses daily; UV drives the etching that botox cannot undo
  • Fixed-frame smiling photos at week two referee the result

Honest limits

  • Botox softens dynamic lines; etched resting lines need separate skin-side work
  • Frozen-looking eyes are a dosing failure, not a stronger result, and we do not produce them
  • Effect is temporary at three to four months, like all botulinum treatment
Our Medical Team

Does treating them early actually prevent deeper lines?

It slows the process rather than preventing ageing, and the reasoning is mechanical. A dynamic line becomes a static one through repetition — thousands of folds in the same place while collagen quietly thins. Reduce how forcefully the muscle folds that skin and you reduce the rate at which the crease sets. So patients treated regularly through their thirties generally arrive in their forties with shallower resting lines than they would otherwise have. What it does not do is stop collagen loss or sun damage, which are the other half of the story. At our Busan clinic I frame it as slowing etching, never as prevention, and daily SPF matters at least as much.

Nobody wants to lose their smile to keep their lines. So I dose the outer corner modestly, protect the muscles that make the eyes crinkle warmly, and accept a slightly less perfect result in exchange for a face that still looks pleased to see you.

Quick Answers

Will treatment make my smile look frozen or unnatural?

Not with lateral placement and modest dosing, which is the standard here. The orbicularis oculi is a large muscle and only its outer portion needs easing — dose it heavily or place it too centrally and the eye area stops crinkling, which reads as blank rather than smooth. Patients notice this in others without being able to name it. At our Busan clinic the outer corner is treated conservatively, the two-week photo is taken smiling rather than at rest, and a top-up is available if the result is gentler than you wanted.

My lines stay even when I am not smiling — is that different?

Completely, and it is the distinction that decides whether botox will satisfy you. A line still visible with your face entirely still is etched into the skin — the crease has formed structurally, and relaxing the muscle beneath will soften how deep it goes without removing it. Those lines need skin-side work: boosters to thicken and hydrate the thin eye-area skin, laser to remodel, occasionally fine filler within the groove. At our Busan clinic both photographs are taken at the grading precisely so this is settled before you spend.

Everything Else You Might Ask

Crow's feet questions in Busan.

From ₩10,000 with Korean brands or ₩58,000 per area with Allergan, on the published list. Skin-side work for etched lines is quoted separately. No foreigner markup.

Yes — English, Japanese (日本語) and Chinese (中文). We are a 5-minute walk from Seomyeon Station Exit 2, and expression photos are reviewed on WhatsApp after you fly home from Busan.

Repeated contraction of the muscle encircling the eye, folding the outer corner — graded at our Busan clinic. Over years and with collagen thinning, some of those folds stop disappearing at rest.

Not with lateral, modest dosing at our Busan clinic. A blank eye area is a dosing failure rather than a stronger result, and we do not produce it.

Those are etched static lines and need skin-side work — boosters, laser or fine filler — because relaxing the muscle will not remove a formed crease.

If lines appear only in expression, treatment is straightforward and slows further etching. There is no age threshold, only a diagnosis.

No — botox still softens the dynamic component at any age, and skin-side work addresses what has already etched. The plan simply has two parts instead of one.

It slows etching by reducing how forcefully skin folds. It does not stop collagen loss or sun damage, and daily SPF matters at least as much.

Three to four months for most Busan patients, with the eye area sometimes slightly shorter because the muscle is active.

Both work. Korean brands from ₩10,000 are MFDS-approved and widely used here; Allergan at ₩58,000 has the longest record. The choice is yours with both prices stated.

None. Occasional pinpoint marks fade within the hour, and no rubbing the eye area on the day is the whole aftercare.

They address the etched skin component by remodelling collagen. They do not stop the muscular folding, which is why combined plans work best.

Yes — it books steadily among men at our Busan clinic, with dosing kept modest so expression stays natural.

Yes — you can fly out of Busan the same day. The effect reads after you arrive home and is reviewed by message.

Rubbing the eye area and face-down pressure on the day. Everything else continues normally.

Dynamic lines substantially softened with your smile intact by the two-week photo, holding three to four months, and etched lines improved gradually by separate skin work. What no honest clinic promises: etched lines erased by botox, permanence, or a frozen eye area being a better result.
