What is Nose Filler, and what does it do?

Nose filler uses a small amount of firm hyaluronic acid on the midline of the nose to raise a low bridge, smooth the appearance of a bump by filling above and below it, straighten a slight curve, or lift a drooping tip by supporting its base. It cannot make a nose smaller, narrower or shorter; it adds, precisely, where adding improves the line. Half to one cc is typical, and the result is visible immediately with a day or two of mild swelling.

At Boom Dermatology in Seomyeon the nose is treated with a protocol rather than a quick injection, because the nose carries blood vessels that connect toward the eye: midline only, deep on the bone or cartilage, small volumes injected slowly, with aspiration and a cannula where possible, and hyaluronidase in the room. The doctor explains this before you book, and patients who want a narrower or smaller nose are told honestly that surgery is their answer.

What Busan patients ask before Nose Filler
  • I have a small bump on my bridge and it is the only thing I see in photos.
  • My nose tip droops when I smile.
  • Is this actually safe? I have read about blindness from nose filler.
  • Will it make my nose look wider from the front?
  • I want surgery eventually. Does having filler now cause problems later?

All of these come up most weeks at our Seomyeon skin clinic. The page answers them in order.

02 Who it suits

Who is Nose Filler for?

Good candidates

  • A low or flat bridge that wants height in profile
  • A small bump that disappears when the line above and below it is raised
  • A tip that droops or lacks support
  • A slight curve or asymmetry of the bridge
  • Patients who want to preview a rhinoplasty result reversibly

We will suggest something else

  • A nose that is wide, large or long; filler only adds, and the doctor will say so
  • Previous rhinoplasty or nasal surgery; the vascular risk is higher and we assess case by case
  • Active acne, infection or rosacea on the nose
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding; blood thinners without clearance
  • Anyone who cannot accept a small, clearly explained vascular risk

07 Questions, answered properly

Is nose filler safe, and how is the vascular risk actually managed?

It is safe when it is done by a doctor who treats it as the one filler area with a real vascular risk. The arteries of the nose connect toward the eye, and filler forced into one can block it; the reported cases are rare and almost all involve large volumes, needles pushed laterally, or non-doctor injectors. At Boom Dermatology the protocol is midline only, deep on bone or cartilage, half to one cc injected slowly with aspiration, a cannula where possible, and hyaluronidase in the room to dissolve gel immediately if anything looks wrong. You are told this before you consent, and you can decline.

Can nose filler replace rhinoplasty?

For a low bridge, a small bump or a drooping tip, yes, for twelve to eighteen months at a time and reversibly. For a wide, large or long nose, no: filler only adds. The doctor at our Seomyeon skin clinic will tell you which nose you have; patients who want reduction are sent to surgery, not sold a syringe.

Will nose filler make my nose look wider from the front?

Not when it stays on the midline. Width comes from gel placed to the sides or in volumes the nose does not need. A higher, straighter bridge usually makes the nose look narrower from the front, because light falls on a single line instead of a flat plane.

Does having filler now cause problems for future rhinoplasty?

Not if it is hyaluronic acid and it is dissolved before surgery, which takes a day. Tell your surgeon; most ask for hyaluronidase two to four weeks before the operation. Permanent fillers are the ones that complicate surgery, and we do not use them.

Why does nose filler outlast filler elsewhere?

The nose does not move and the gel sits on bone or cartilage, so a firm HA holds its shape for twelve to eighteen months. It is one of the longest-lasting areas, with the chin.
