What is Gouri, and what does it do?
Gouri
is polycaprolactone in a fully liquid form, with no microspheres and no gel carrier: injected from a few points per side, it flows through the subcutaneous layer and spreads itself under the skin, where the PCL stimulates collagen evenly across the whole area over three months. The result is overall firmness and a lift in skin quality rather than a drawn line, which is the opposite use of PCL from Ellansé.
At Boom Dermatology in Seomyeon, Gouri is the stimulator we suggest for a face that has started to lose firmness everywhere: cheeks that have softened, a jawline that has blurred rather than dropped, skin that no longer springs back. The 5cc protocol covers the mid and lower face. For a line that needs drawing, Ellansé; for a PCL grid across the face, Lafullen; for skin quality alone, Olidia 120.

Questions, answered properly
How can a liquid firm the face?
The collagen response comes from the polymer, not from its shape. Particle stimulators need the particles spread evenly by massage; liquid PCL spreads itself through the fat layer and triggers the same fibroblast response wherever it reaches. The result is an even firmness across the area rather than a line or a lump, which is the whole reason to choose it at Boom Dermatology.
Will it spread somewhere it should not?
It stays in the plane it is placed in. The doctor injects into the subcutaneous layer away from the eye and lip areas, and the liquid distributes within that layer in the first hour. It does not travel to the eyelids or the lips when placed correctly, which is why it is placed by the doctor and not by a nurse.
How many points, and does it hurt?
Three to five points each side, under numbing cream and with lidocaine in the product. Patients describe pressure as the liquid goes in rather than pain, and the whole session is thirty minutes.
Gouri or Lafullen?
Same polymer, same price, different feel. Gouri gives even firmness with no fullness; Lafullen gives firmness with a little immediate fullness from its gel carrier, placed as a grid. A face that is soft but not deflated: Gouri. A face that is soft and slightly deflated: Lafullen. The doctor at our Seomyeon skin clinic decides at the consultation.
When will I see it, and how long does it hold?
Six weeks for the first firmness, three months for the peak, twelve to eighteen months of hold. The swelling on the day is the liquid itself and is not the result; it settles within three days.
