Which acne scar treatment works, and what does it cost in Busan?

Acne scars are not one problem. Rolling scars are shallow, soft dents tethered from below; boxcar scars are wider pits with defined edges; ice-pick scars are narrow and deep; and most faces have all three with enlarged pores and uneven texture between them. Each type responds to a different depth of treatment, which is why a single device, however expensive, leaves half the face untouched. Downtime after acne scar treatment, and flying home

Honestly stated: one to three days of redness and pinpoint marks for FloraCell, fractional pico and Potenza; two to three days of swelling for Scorpio; a week or more of raw healing for CO2. Make-up from day two for the needle and pico devices. Fly after 24 to 48 hours. Scars begin to lift at six weeks and keep filling for six months after the last session.

My acne cleared years ago but my skin still looks damaged in photos. Can that change?

Yes, and photographs are the honest way to measure it. Old scars are stable, which makes them predictable: a course of three to five sessions with devices matched to scar type lifts rolling and boxcar scars substantially and improves ice-pick scars, with the collagen still filling six months after the last visit. At Boom Dermatology the first photo is taken in fixed light at the consultation so the change can be seen rather than remembered.

I have tried peels and microneedling and the texture barely moved. Why?

Because they worked at the surface and the scars are anchored below it. Peels and basic needling smooth the skin between scars; a tethered or pitted scar needs energy at its base, which is what Potenza and Scorpio deliver and what a cosmetic microneedling pen cannot. The stretch test at the consultation shows which of your scars were never reachable by what you tried.

Deep pits and rolling dents: are they treated the same way?

No. Rolling dents are tethered and lift when the skin is stretched; they respond to RF microneedling across the field and to subcision for single tethers. Pits do not lift; they need remodelling from the base (Scorpio) or ablation (CO2 fractional). Most faces at our Seomyeon skin clinic have both and alternate two devices six weeks apart.

I still break out occasionally. Should I treat scars yet?

Occasional spots are fine; active, recurring acne is not, because each flare makes new scars inside a course you are paying for. The rule is three months of control first, with Agnes for the units that keep returning, then the scar course.
