Chin filler or chin implant, and why filler comes first.

An implant is permanent, surgical and irreversible. Filler is ₩39,000 per cc in Busan, lasts a year and dissolves in days if you dislike it. For most people the sensible order is obvious, and this guide explains when it is not.

The chin is the highest-leverage single zone in facial balance and the one most people never consider. It also happens to be where a reversible ₩39,000 treatment can preview a permanent surgical one — which makes the decision order unusually clear.

Does This Sound Familiar?

What visitors ask about chin treatment in Korea

  • Would filler give me enough projection?
  • Is an implant worth it if I want a permanent result?
  • Can filler make my face look longer or narrower?
  • How long does chin filler actually last?
  • Can I try filler first and have surgery later?

All five come up almost every week. This page answers them in order, using the same information our coordinators send over WhatsApp before you fly.

What a chin actually changes in a face

A recessed chin, as we grade it at our Busan clinic, affects far more than the chin. It shortens the apparent lower face, makes the nose read larger by comparison, blurs the jawline definition and can create the appearance of a double chin in someone with very little submental fat.

Which is why chin projection is the change that most often surprises patients — a small addition in one zone alters the balance of the whole profile. At our Busan clinic it is frequently the first thing recommended to patients who arrived asking about their nose or their jawline.

If you have considered rhinoplasty because your nose looks large in profile, look at your chin first. The proportion is between the two, and only one of them requires surgery to change.

Our V-line grading in Busan assesses chin projection alongside jaw width and soft tissue, because treating one without the others produces an unbalanced result.

Filler and implant compared honestly in Busan

Chin filler Chin implant
Procedure 15 minutes, injection Surgery under anaesthesia
Cost in Busan from ₩39,000 per cc Surgical clinic pricing
Result Immediate, settles in 2 weeks Permanent once healed
Duration 12–18 months in this zone Permanent
Reversible Yes — dissolves in days Only by further surgery
Projection limit Moderate Substantial
Downtime 2–3 days of swelling Weeks

The row that matters most is reversibility. Filler placed badly is a two-week problem; an implant placed badly is a second operation. That asymmetry is why the sensible order for almost everyone is filler first, and why a clinic pushing straight to surgery for moderate recession is worth a second opinion.

The row that decides the exceptions is projection limit. There is a point beyond which filler cannot go without the result reading soft rather than defined, and past that point an implant is the honest answer rather than more syringes.

The published Busan chin filler prices

Chin filler in Busan is the cheapest zone on our filler list, which surprises people given how much it changes.

Brand Price / cc
Attierre ₩39,000
Neuramis ₩60,000
Rejuviel ₩99,000
Y-Solution ₩130,000
Restylane ₩200,000
Juvederm ₩220,000

Most chin plans use one to two cc, so a first treatment with an entry gel runs ₩39,000 to ₩78,000 — genuinely low for a change this visible. The chin is also a zone where firmer gels earn their price: it needs to hold a defined edge under constant muscle movement, which is exactly what premium cross-linking does best. Our Restylane guide for Busan covers that gel-character distinction.

When an implant is the right answer in Busan

We are not a surgical clinic, and being clear about the boundary is part of an honest consultation.

  • Significant recession — where the projection needed exceeds what filler achieves cleanly
  • Permanence as the goal — a patient who does not want a maintenance schedule for the next thirty years
  • Repeated top-ups already — someone maintaining a large volume annually may be better served surgically
  • Structural asymmetry — bone-level differences that filler can camouflage but not correct

In those cases our Busan consultation says so and refers rather than selling a filler plan that will underdeliver. What we would caution against is the reverse — being steered toward permanent surgery for a recession that one cc of filler would resolve for ₩39,000.

Using filler as a trial before surgery in Busan

This is the argument most worth taking away from a Busan consultation. Filler lets you see your own face with more chin projection for a year, at a fraction of surgical cost, with the option to reverse it in days.

  • You find out whether the change suits you before committing permanently
  • Photographs across a year tell you more than any surgical simulation
  • If you dislike it, hyaluronidase removes it and nothing has been decided
  • If you love it, you go into a surgical consultation knowing what you want

Surgeons generally welcome patients who arrive having trialled the change, because the conversation starts from evidence rather than from imagination. At our Busan clinic that is how we frame chin filler to anyone considering an implant — not as an alternative to surgery, but as the cheapest possible way to make the surgical decision well.

Planning chin treatment around a trip to Busan

Chin filler suits a visit well. Fifteen minutes, two to three days of swelling, and a settled result at week two.

  • Two-week trip — ideal. You see the settled result before flying home.
  • Short trip — workable; you fly home with mild swelling that resolves in days.
  • Combining with other work — chin frequently pairs with jaw botox in Busan, and the sequence is written so each component can be judged separately.

One planning note: chin and jaw work together, and treating both in one visit makes it harder to know which produced the change. Where both are graded, the written sequence usually separates them by a few weeks — which for visitors means one on this trip and one on the next. Every figure here appears on the published Busan price list.

Our Medical Team

Who will actually treat you at JRYN Seomyeon?

A doctor, in person, every time — never a nurse or a coordinator. JRYN Seomyeon has three doctors, and the clinic was founded by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, who still consults here. What you actually need is decided during the consultation after your skin is examined, not from a fixed package chosen in advance.

Three doctors, one standard of care.

Every treatment plan at JRYN Seomyeon is decided and performed in person by one of our doctors — led by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, founder of JRYN Dermatology.

From the Founder

The consultation is the treatment.

Most patients arrive asking for a specific treatment. My job is to check whether it is the right one for what they actually have. Getting that wrong is the most common mistake I correct.

Questions patients ask first.

For most people filler first — it is reversible, costs from ₩39,000 per cc in Busan, and shows you the change before anything permanent is decided.

From ₩39,000 per cc with an entry gel up to ₩220,000 with Juvederm, on the published list. Most plans use one to two cc.

Twelve to eighteen months in this zone at our Busan clinic, which is longer than mobile areas because the chin moves comparatively little.

Significant recession, permanence as an explicit goal, or bone-level asymmetry. At our Busan clinic those cases are referred rather than sold a filler plan.

Yes, and our Busan doctors recommend it. A year of photographs tells you more than any simulation, and hyaluronidase reverses it if you dislike the change.

It lengthens the apparent lower face, which is often exactly the goal. The grading states how much projection your proportion will carry.

Chin projection sharpens jawline definition as a consequence. Where jaw width is also a factor, the two are graded together.

Yes — fifteen minutes with two to three days of swelling. A two-week trip lets you see the settled result before flying home.
