What is FloraCell, and what does it do?

FloraCell is the fractional scar-and-pore device at Boom Dermatology: energy is delivered to the skin as a grid of microscopic treatment columns, leaving the skin between the columns untouched, so each column heals from its neighbours within days while the heat it left behind triggers collagen remodelling over the following weeks. The result, over a course, is finer texture, tighter pores and shallower surface scars, with downtime measured in days rather than the week or more that a full-field resurfacing laser needs.

In Seomyeon we use FloraCell as the mid-priced texture session: more than toning does for pores, less downtime than a CO2 pass, ₩220,000 against Potenza at ₩440,000. It suits rough, large-pored skin, shallow rolling acne scars and the general texture of the cheeks and nose. For deeper, pitted scars, RF microneedling ( Potenza, Scorpio) or the acne scar page; for pigment rather than texture, toning.

What Busan patients ask before FloraCell
  • What does a ₩220,000 session actually get me?
  • Does a lower price mean a minor treatment?
  • How is this different from the pico fractional and Potenza you also have?
  • How much downtime, honestly, and can I work through it?
  • How many sessions before pores look smaller?

All of these come up most weeks at our Seomyeon skin clinic. The page answers them in order.

02 Who it suits

Who is FloraCell for?

Good candidates

  • Rough texture and enlarged pores on the cheeks and nose
  • Shallow rolling acne scars
  • Oily skin that toning has brightened but not smoothed
  • Patients who want texture work with two or three days of downtime
  • Maintenance after a Potenza or fractional course

We will suggest something else

  • Deep ice-pick or boxcar scars, which want RF microneedling or subcision
  • Active acne on the area; treat the acne first
  • Melasma-prone skin, where heat is used cautiously; the doctor decides
  • Isotretinoin in the last six months
  • Tanned skin; pregnancy; an event inside a week

03 The visit

What happens at a FloraCell session in Seomyeon?

This is how a FloraCell visit runs at Boom Dermatology, a skin clinic in Seomyeon, Busan, from the first message to the review.

1

Message first

A daylight photo without make-up and what bothers you. The doctor replies with the device, the likely session count and the VAT-included price.

2

Consultation

Pigment is separated from redness, melasma is screened for, previous lasers and sun exposure are asked. Device and settings go on your record.

3

Cleanse and cool

Make-up off, eye shields on; cooling gel or numbing cream depending on the device.

4

Test pulses, then the pass

A few test pulses on the jawline to read the response, then the full pass by the doctor.

5

Out the door

Sunscreen before you leave; make-up from the same evening for toning, the next day for vascular work.

6

Review and rhythm

A photo at two to four weeks sets the interval; a review at the fifth session decides continue, stop or switch.

How does Boom Dermatology dose FloraCell?

FloraCell is dosed by density and energy per pass; the doctor sets both to your skin and writes them on your record.

Fractional columns

A grid of treated points with untouched skin between, so healing is fast and the collagen response is spread evenly.

Density to the problem

Denser over pores and scars on the cheeks and nose; lighter on the forehead and jaw.

Four to six weeks apart

Three to five sessions; the collagen from each keeps building into the next.

07 Questions, answered properly

What does a ₩220,000 session get me?

A full-face fractional pass by the doctor, numbing included, with density set to your pores and scars, and a written record of the settings. One session gives visibly smoother skin for a few weeks; three sessions change the texture. It is the mid-priced option at Boom Dermatology on purpose: more than toning does for pores, less downtime than CO2.

Does a lower price mean a minor treatment?

No, it means a lighter device. FloraCell at ₩220,000 remodels the surface; Potenza at ₩440,000 remodels deeper with needles. For shallow scars and pores the lighter device is the right one and the cheaper one; for deep scars it is the wrong one at any price. The doctor at our Seomyeon skin clinic says which before you pay.

How is this different from pico fractional and Potenza?

Depth and target. PicoHi Fraxel is picosecond energy in a fractional pattern, best when texture and pigment need treating together, with the least downtime. FloraCell is the mid-depth texture pass. Potenza is RF through needles, deepest, for pitted scars. Three tools, one price list, chosen by the scar.

How much downtime, and can I work through it?

Two to three days of redness and a grid texture that make-up covers from day two. Video calls on day one are visible; by day three most patients are at their desk without comment. Fly after 24 hours.

How many sessions before pores look smaller?

Smoother from the second week after the first session; pores reading smaller in fixed-light photos from the second or third session. Three is the usual course, five for scars, four to six weeks apart, each bought one at a time at Boom Dermatology in Busan.
