What is Water Glow Booster, and what does it do?
Water Glow
is the English name for the Korean 물광 ("mulgwang", water-light) injection: a hydrating booster placed as hundreds of tiny droplets across the whole face so the skin holds water in the dermis and reflects light evenly, the finish usually described as glass skin. At Boom Dermatology the product in the syringe is Juvelook Skin, hyaluronic acid for the immediate hydration plus PDLLA microparticles that go on to build collagen, so the glow of the first two weeks is followed by firmer, finer skin over three months.
In Seomyeon we suggest Water Glow for an event or a trip, for skin that drinks moisturiser and is still tight by lunchtime, and as the entry treatment for patients who want to see what a booster does before committing to a course. Timing is the whole art: pinpricks show for a day or two and the glow peaks at one to two weeks, so the ideal window is ten days before the photograph.

How long before an event should I have Water Glow?
Ten days. Pinpricks are visible up close for two or three days, the hydration shows from day five, and the glow peaks between one and two weeks. Booked ten days out, you arrive at the date at the peak with every mark long gone. Booked three days out, you arrive with pinpricks; we will say so rather than take the booking.
Is this the same as a skin booster, or something different?
It is a skin booster, delivered as the mulgwang protocol: dense, superficial, whole-face. The product at Boom Dermatology is Juvelook Skin, so you also get the PDLLA collagen effect over three months; a pure-HA "water glow" at another clinic gives the glow and nothing after.
Does it do anything lasting, or only a temporary glow?
Both. The hydration lasts three to six months as the HA holds water in the dermis; the PDLLA builds collagen from week six, so skin is finer and firmer at three months than it was before. A course of two or three sessions turns the temporary glow into a lasting change in skin quality.
Is Water Glow the same as Rejuran or Skinvive?
No. Rejuran is polynucleotide repair for thin, damaged skin; Water Glow is hydration plus collagen for dull, dehydrated skin. Skinvive is a Juvederm HA booster we do not carry; Juvelook does the same job with the collagen half added, which is why we chose it. The doctor at our Seomyeon skin clinic will say which your skin needs.
How quickly does the glow appear?
