What is Xeomin, and what does it do?
Xeomin
(incobotulinumtoxinA, Merz) is the imported toxin manufactured as the bare 150 kDa neurotoxin, stripped of the complexing proteins that conventional products carry. Those accessory proteins play no part in the effect but are the component most associated with the immune system forming neutralising antibodies after years of repeated treatment; removing them is why Xeomin is the long-term default in many practices. It stores at room temperature, uses a one-to-one unit scale with conventional toxins, and has the same onset and duration: three to five days, three to four months on the face, four to six on the jaw and body.
At Boom Dermatology in Seomyeon, Xeomin is the brand we suggest for patients who treat every three to four months and intend to for a decade, for anyone whose results have shortened over time, and for patients who already use Xeomin at home and want continuity. It is the highest price on our list at ₩121,000 per area; Coretox
offers the same protein-free rationale at ₩55,000, and the doctor will tell you honestly which fits.

Who it suits
Who is Xeomin for?
Good candidates
Patients who treat every three to four months and plan to for years
Anyone whose results have become shorter over time on conventional toxins
Patients who use Xeomin at home and want the same product and units
Precise small areas, where Xeomin's tight spread is an advantage
Patients who want the longest-studied protein-free brand
We will suggest something else
Patients with confirmed neutralising-antibody resistance; a protein-free toxin reduces future risk but does not reverse it
Pregnancy or breastfeeding, neuromuscular conditions
A skin infection at the injection site
Occasional, once-a-year patients for whom the premium buys little; Wondertox does the job
Anyone expecting a stronger result; potency at matched units is the same

Questions, answered properly
What does protein-free mean in practice?
Nothing you feel on the day, and something that matters over years. Conventional toxins carry accessory proteins that the immune system can learn to recognise; a small proportion of long-term patients develop antibodies and find each treatment shorter than the last. Xeomin contains only the active neurotoxin, so there is nothing extra to react to. For a once-a-year patient it is a premium with little return; for a quarterly patient over a decade it is the sensible default, and that is who the doctor at Boom Dermatology suggests it to.
I get Xeomin at home. Will the units be the same here?
Yes. Xeomin uses a one-to-one unit scale with conventional toxins, so your record from home transfers directly. Bring it or tell us the units; we write ours the same way, in units per point, and your next clinic can read it.
Xeomin or Coretox?
Same protein-free rationale. Xeomin has the longer international record and the European and US licences; Coretox is Medytox's version at ₩55,000 per area. If you want the most-studied brand, Xeomin; if you want the rationale at a Korean price, Coretox. We carry both and will not push one.
Is Xeomin worth seven times the price of Wondertox?
For most occasional patients, no, and we will say so: the molecule is the same and the result at matched units is equivalent. For long-term frequent patients, for continuity with the product you use at home, or for precise small areas where its tight spread helps, the premium buys something real. The doctor at our Seomyeon skin clinic answers that question for your face, not in general.
Is it authentic Merz product?
Yes. Sealed, MFDS-imported Merz packaging opened in front of you; brand and lot on your record.
