What is Shurink Universe, and what does it do?
Shurink Universe
is a Korean HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) device. Each "line" focuses ultrasound energy to a precise depth, 4.5 mm for the SMAS layer and 3.0 or 1.5 mm for the deeper and mid dermis, creating tiny points of heat that make the tissue contract and then rebuild collagen around them. Because the energy is focused below the surface, the skin itself is untouched, which is why there is no redness and why it can be done in a lunch break. The Universe generation fires faster and more comfortably than the first Shurink, so 300 lines take half an hour instead of an hour.
At Boom Dermatology in Seomyeon, Shurink is where lifting usually starts. For a first-time patient we suggest 100 lines on the jawline and under the chin to feel what HIFU does; for a full-face lift 300 lines cover cheeks, jawline and chin. It is also the maintenance device between a yearly Ultherapy

Is Shurink as effective as Ultherapy?
For a lighter dose, yes; for a full lift, Ultherapy Prime does more per line and lasts longer. Both focus ultrasound to the SMAS at 4.5 mm. Ultherapy Prime

Why is 300 shots quoted everywhere?
Because 300 lines is roughly what a full lower and mid face takes at two depths, so it became the package number across Korea. It is not a rule. A narrow face or a jawline-only goal needs 100; a broad face with a neck may need more. At Boom Dermatology the doctor maps the lines on your face before quoting, and 100 lines placed on the right vectors beats 300 lines sprayed evenly.
I had HIFU before and saw nothing. Was it the device or the clinic?
Usually neither the device nor you: it was depth and placement. HIFU only lifts if the lines reach the SMAS, and on a thicker face a 4.5 mm cartridge fired by a technician in a straight pattern can miss it entirely. At our Seomyeon skin clinic the doctor presses the tissue, picks the depth per zone and fires along the lifting vectors. It is also possible that your face needed radiofrequency rather than ultrasound; the consultation sorts that out before anything is fired.
Will Shurink make my face look hollow?
It can, on a thin face, if too many lines are placed at 4.5 mm where there is little fat to spare. That is a dosing error, not a property of the device. The doctor limits lines and skips the deep cartridge on thin faces, and will suggest Oligio
instead if your face has little volume to begin with.
Is Shurink realistic on a two-day trip to Busan?
