What Is Skin Botox?

The Korean secret to pores you can't see.

Skin botox — also called microbotox, baby botox or mesobotox — places highly diluted toxin at many shallow points just under the skin's surface, never into the facial muscles. It shrinks the sebaceous (oil) glands and tightens pores, for a smoother, matte finish over 1–2 weeks.

Because it stays in the skin and not the muscle, it controls oil and refines pores without changing how your face moves. At JRYN Seomyeon it runs as a 3-session course, monthly, then maintenance — from ₩20,000 spot treatment through to full-face. Best results come from consistency, not a single heavy dose.

How It Works

The science, without the hype.

Understanding the mechanism helps you set realistic expectations — and see why technique matters more than brand here.

01

Oil & pores

Overactive sebaceous glands enlarge pores and leave skin shiny. Their activity is what skin botox quietly turns down.

02

Superficial micro-doses

Dr. Lee places many tiny, diluted doses just under the surface — into the skin layer, never the expression muscles beneath.

03

Pores shrink, oil drops

Over 1–2 weeks the glands calm, pores tighten and shine fades — a smooth, matte, "glass-skin" surface, with full expression intact.

04

A short course

Results hold ~3 months. We run three monthly sessions to build the effect, then maintenance — consistency is what locks in the glow.

Where We Inject

Four zones, one smooth finish.

Each zone has its own dilution, dose and timeline. Dr. Lee maps yours in person — these are starting points, not fixed packages.

Honest Candidacy

Who it suits — and who should wait.

A good fit if you…

  • Have visibly enlarged pores, oily shine or rough texture
  • Want a smooth, matte "glass-skin" finish without changing expression
  • Can commit to a short monthly course for the best result
  • Prefer a no-downtime treatment you can do on a travel schedule

Better to wait if you…

  • Have active acne or inflamed skin — we treat that first
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Want deep acne-scar correction — laser or microneedling may suit better
  • Expect a result overnight — skin botox builds over 1–2 weeks

After your treatment

  • Expect mild redness for about an hour — easy to cover, fine to fly the same day
  • Skip makeup for the rest of the day; stay upright for 4 hours
  • Avoid saunas, intense exercise and alcohol for about 24 hours
  • Keep skincare gentle for 48 hours — no strong acids or scrubs

Possible side effects

  • Short-lived redness or tiny pinpoint marks across the treated area
  • Occasional mild bruising at a few of the injection points
  • Skin feels tighter and looks matte as the effect builds over 1–2 weeks
  • We review you on WhatsApp after you fly home, in your language

Your Injector

Skin botox is about technique, not just product.

Skin botox lives in the dilution and the depth — too deep and you weaken muscle, too shallow and it does nothing. Placed right, it refines skin without touching how you move. That precision is the whole treatment.

Skin Botox FAQ

Good to know.

At JRYN Seomyeon, skin botox starts from ₩20,000 (Korean Standard, spot) up to ₩99,000 (Allergan), with Coretox at ₩30,000 and Dysport at ₩90,000 in between. Full-face runs from ₩50,000 to ₩200,000. Best results come from a 3-session monthly course — we confirm your exact quote free in consultation or over WhatsApp.

Regular (wrinkle) botox goes into the expression muscles to soften lines. Skin botox uses diluted toxin placed shallowly in the skin itself — it shrinks oil glands and tightens pores without affecting muscle movement. Same product, completely different depth and technique.

Many tiny, shallow injections feel like light pinpricks — we use numbing cream first. Downtime is minimal: expect mild redness for about an hour and skip makeup for the rest of the day. You can fly the same day; just avoid saunas and hard exercise for 24 hours.

Each treatment lasts around 3 months. For lasting results we recommend a course of 3 sessions, one month apart, then maintenance every few months. The benefit is cumulative — pores and oil stay better controlled the more consistent you are.

All four are safe in licensed hands; the difference is cost and diffusion. Korean Standard suits a first course and spot areas, Coretox suits sensitive skin and long-term users, Dysport diffuses finely across wider zones, and Allergan has the longest track record. We recommend based on your skin and goals — not on what costs most.

Yes. Skin botox is typically done the same day, right after your consultation, in about 20 minutes. Message us your concern and travel dates on WhatsApp beforehand and we'll have a plan ready when you arrive in Seomyeon.
