Does This Sound Familiar?

What Busan patients ask before choosing a pigment laser.

  • Every clinic recommends a different laser for the same face — why?
  • Is picosecond always better than Q-switched?
  • Does a ₩200,000 session clear ten times more than a ₩20,000 one?
  • Which of these is safe for melasma?
  • How do I know I am not being sold the expensive machine?

All five come up most weeks in Busan. The sections below answer them in order — why recommendations differ, the pico-versus-Q-switched truth, what price actually buys, the melasma answer across platforms, and how owning seven machines changes the incentive.

Why Seven Platforms?

Because pigment is not one problem.

Diffuse dullness, consolidated sun spots, melasma, tattoo ink and post-acne marks all sit under the word "pigment" and behave completely differently under light. Some want gentle repetition, some want high peak power in a single pass, some want to be left alone by lasers almost entirely.

A clinic with one pigment laser gives one answer to all of them — not from dishonesty, but from inventory. We run seven pico and Q-switched platforms at our Busan, Korea clinic, from ₩20,000 to ₩200,000 per session, precisely so the examination can assign by mechanism instead of by what is in the room. The most common honest recommendation on this page is the cheapest machine on it.

How It Works

The science, without the hype.

Four questions decide the platform at our Busan clinic — in this order.

01

Diffuse or consolidated?

Spread-out dullness responds to gentle repetition; fixed spots need fluence that frosts and crusts.

02

Melasma present?

This question comes before power, not after. Melasma-dominant skin is routed to conservative protocols on any platform.

03

How much time do you have?

Power shortens courses. A visitor with two weeks and a resident with six months should not get the same machine.

04

What has your skin done before?

Previous response is the most useful data there is — better than any spec sheet comparison.

Your Visit, Step by Step

Six steps at our Busan clinic, reading, assignment, then treatment.

01

Pigment reading

The doctor separates diffuse from consolidated, screens melasma and grades skin type at our Busan clinic — four minutes that decide everything after.

02

Previous-response review

What your skin did under earlier courses, if any — the single most useful input in platform choice.

03

Platform assignment

The machine is named with its reason, its published price and its expected session count, in writing.

04

Schedule fit

Course length is matched to your calendar honestly — visitors and residents genuinely need different platforms.

05

The course

Three to ten sessions depending on assignment, photographed in fixed light at each visit.

06

Reassignment if needed

If response disagrees with the reading by session five, the platform changes rather than the count increasing.

Pico Lasers Compared Pricing

What does pigment laser treatment cost in Busan?

From ₩20,000 to ₩200,000 per session depending on the platform your pigment actually needs, with the course count written at the exam. Total cost often converges — a shorter premium course can land near a longer entry one. No foreigner markup.

The tiers, side by side.

All seven owned here — which is why the assignment can be clinical.

Tier Best for Price
Entry (PicoCare · Pastelle) Diffuse tone, no downtime, weekly rhythm ₩20,000 / session
Mid (Revlite SI) Toning, spots and tattoo on one platform ₩99,000 / session
Power (PicoPlus · Discovery · Helios · PicoWay) Consolidated pigment, ink, shorter courses ₩200,000 / session

Published prices in Korean Won, identical to the list Korean patients see — no foreigner markup. The exam recommends the cheapest platform that fits the target and states the reason in writing. See the full price list.

What to Expect

The honest arc of a matched course.

When What you will notice What to do
Consultation Pigment separated, melasma screened, platform named with price and session count in writing. Ask what the cheapest platform would and would not achieve — a fair question with a real answer.
Sessions 1–3 Entry toning brightens subtly; power platforms show change faster; spot work crusts and clears. SPF daily from session one. It is the variable patients control and most underestimate.
Session 5 checkpoint The fixed-light photo decides: continue, stop early, or reassign the platform. No change by session five means wrong platform, not insufficient sessions.
Course end Tone brighter, spots cleared, ink lightened — read against the starting photo, not memory. Maintenance framed plainly per platform; pigment tendency does not disappear.
Honest Suitability

Who it suits in Busan — and who should wait.

A good fit if you…

  • Unsure which pigment laser your skin actually needs
  • Told different things by different clinics and wanting the reasoning
  • Previous toning courses that produced little visible change
  • Melasma-prone skin wanting a conservative, honest assessment
  • Busan visitors needing course length matched to trip length

Better to wait if you…

  • Pregnancy — pigment lasers deferred as standard
  • Active tan or recent sun — two shaded weeks before any platform
  • Expecting one session to replace a course — the reading states the realistic shape first
  • Wanting melasma cleared aggressively — we decline that on every platform here

After your treatment

  • Per-platform aftercare ships in writing with each session
  • SPF daily throughout any pigment course, without exception
  • Crust days on spot-fluence work are never picked
  • Fixed-light photos referee the course — the mirror is not evidence

Honest limits

  • A more expensive platform is not automatically better for your target
  • Melasma is managed conservatively on every platform here — never cleared aggressively
  • Sun exposure undoes pigment results faster than any of these machines build them
Our Medical Team

How do I know I am not being sold the expensive machine?

By whether the clinic can afford to recommend the cheap one, and by whether they explain the reasoning in writing. Our entry toning is ₩20,000 and our power platforms are ₩200,000, and the most frequent recommendation I write at our Busan clinic is the entry platform — because most people asking about pigment have diffuse dullness, which does not need power. Where I do recommend a ₩200,000 machine it is for a specific reason I can name: consolidated spots, ink, or a calendar that cannot accommodate ten weekly visits. Ask any clinic how many pigment platforms they own before weighing their advice.

Seven pigment lasers is not a boast, it is an admission — pigment is genuinely several problems wearing one word, and no single machine handles them all well. What the collection buys my patients is a recommendation that costs me nothing to make honestly, including when the honest answer is the ₩20,000 one.

Quick Answers

Is picosecond always better than Q-switched?

For fragmenting consolidated pigment and tattoo ink, picosecond is measurably more efficient — shorter pulses mean smaller particles and less thermal spread, and for those targets I reach for pico without hesitation. For the classic toning job, the picture is closer than the marketing suggests: Q-switched built the Korean toning protocol and still delivers a character of result that patients recognise, at prices from ₩20,000. At our Busan clinic the assignment turns on your target and your previous response, not on which technology is newer.

Does a ₩200,000 session clear ten times more than a ₩20,000 one?

No, and anyone implying that is selling. The premium platforms carry more peak power per pulse, which buys two things honestly: targets that entry machines cannot move at all, and shorter courses for targets they could eventually reach. So for consolidated spots the expensive machine is not better value — it is the only one that works. For diffuse dullness on a flexible schedule it is a convenience purchase, and at our Busan clinic we state which of the two situations you are in before you pay for either.

Everything Else You Might Ask

Pigment laser questions in Busan.

From ₩20,000 to ₩200,000 per session depending on the platform your target needs, with the course count written at the exam. No foreigner markup.

Yes — English, Japanese (日本語) and Chinese (中文). We are a 5-minute walk from Seomyeon Station Exit 2, and course photos are reviewed on WhatsApp after you fly home from Busan.

None universally — at our Busan clinic the question is which fits your target. Diffuse tone, consolidated spots, tattoo ink and melasma each favour different platforms, and the exam assigns by that.

Pulse duration, as we explain at our Busan clinic. Picosecond pulses fragment pigment photoacoustically with less heat; Q-switched nanosecond pulses are more thermal but built the original toning protocol and still perform on tone and pores.

Peak power. Higher-power platforms fragment more pigment per pass, which buys shorter courses and reaches targets entry machines cannot move at all.

All of them conservatively, none of them aggressively. Melasma is screened at the reading and managed with gentle protocols, photoprotection and often topical treatment at our Busan clinic.

Three to six on power platforms, five to ten on entry toning, one to three for discrete spot work — all written before you start.

Revlite SI comes closest at ₩99,000, covering toning, spots and tattoo work. Even so, consolidated pigment often responds better to picosecond fragmentation.

By session five the fixed-light photo decides. No visible change means the platform is wrong, and we reassign rather than sell more of the same.

Yes with type-matched settings, test passes and a strict two-week no-tan rule — the standing protocol on every pigment platform at our Busan clinic.

PicoPlus, PicoWay and Revlite SI handle ink, graded by colour and depth with an honest clearance range rather than a session promise.

Yes — sun-accumulated tone, spots and tattoo clearance book heavily among men at our Busan clinic.

Power platforms, because the course is shorter. Entry toning suits residents and repeat visitors who can keep a weekly rhythm.

Sun and self-tanner for two weeks, retinoids for a few days, and any fresh irritation on the target zone.

Unprotected sun on every platform, plus picking crusts where spot fluence was used.

Brighter even tone across a toning course, consolidated spots cleared in one to three sessions, ink lightened across a graded course. What no honest clinic promises: melasma cured, every ink colour cleared, or results that survive without sun discipline.
