Scar treatment in Busan Seomyeon, surgical, trauma and burn scars, honestly improved.
Old scars are not one problem — raised, tethered, discoloured and textured are four different problems, often sharing one scar. We grade yours, then build the program: fractional lasers, flattening injections, release work, in written sequence. From ₩400,000, with "improved, not erased" said out loud first. English, 日本語 and 中文 consults. Medically reviewed by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, MD.

Does This Sound Familiar?
What Busan patients ask before booking scar treatment.
Can old scars actually still improve — mine is years old?
Raised, sunken, dark, tight — which tools fix which problem?
Will the scar be gone, honestly, or just better?
How is a C-section or surgery scar treated differently from a burn?
What does a full program cost and how long does it run?
All five come up most weeks in Busan. The sections below answer them in order — why scar age matters less than people fear, the tool-per-problem map, the improved-versus-erased truth, type-specific approaches, and honest program math.
Scar Removal · JRYN Seomyeon
What Is Scar Treatment?
Four problems, usually wearing one scar.
A mature scar misbehaves in up to four ways at once: it sits raised (hypertrophic tissue), or pulled-in and tethered (adhesion to deeper layers), its colour mismatches (red, brown or pale), and its texture reads shiny or ropey against normal skin. Each problem has its own tool — which is why serious scar work is a program, not a session.
At our Busan Seomyeon clinic the program combines them in written sequence: flattening injections for raised tissue, subcision or needling for tethering, fractional lasers for texture and colour blending — graded to your scar's type, age and history. From ₩400,000 on the published list at our Busan clinic, with the honest frame stated before anything starts: scars improve substantially; they do not vanish, and clinics promising erasure are selling photographs.
How It Works
The science, without the hype.
Tool per problem, in the right order — here is the map.
01
Flattening (raised)
Steroid and combination injections soften and flatten hypertrophic tissue — the raised scar's specific fix, dosed across sessions.
02
Release (tethered)
Subcision and needling free the scar's adhesion to deeper layers — pulled-in scars rise once untethered.
03
Remodelling (texture)
Fractional lasers rework the scar's collagen toward normal-skin architecture — the shine and rope softening pass by pass.
04
Blending (colour)
Laser and pigment work close the colour gap — redness calmed, darkness lifted, pale scars helped toward blend.
Scar Types We Treat

The Program Arc
What months of work honestly deliver.
When
What you will notice
What to do
Month 1
Grading, photos, and the first sessions — raised tissue begins softening under injections; release work frees tethering.
Silicone care and massage per the written home protocol — the daily half of scar work.
Month 2–4
Fractional passes remodel texture; the scar reads flatter and softer to the finger before the eye.
SPF on the scar religiously — healing scar tissue pigments fast in sun.
Month 4–8
Colour blending shows: redness calmed, edges softening into surrounding skin in photos.
The comparison photos referee honestly — sent by message from home.
Month 9–12
The program's endpoint read: substantially flatter, softer, better-blended — improved, as promised, not erased.
Maintenance and any final passes framed plainly; some scars graduate done.
Trauma scars with mixed raised-tethered-discoloured problems
Old scars — age matters less than people fear, and we say when it matters at all
Wanting the improved-not-erased frame stated before spending
Busan visitors — sessions pace around trips, photos travel by message
Better to wait if you…
Pregnancy — injections and lasers deferred as standard
Keloid-type scars — treated, but graded and framed with their specific honesty first
Scars under six months old — often still self-remodelling; timing advised honestly
Expecting invisible outcomes — improvement is substantial; erasure is a photograph trick
After your treatment
Silicone care and massage per the written home protocol — daily, boring, effective
SPF on the scar religiously through the program — scar tissue pigments fast
Per-tool settling rules stated in writing at each session
Consistent-framing photos referee the arc — trust them over memory
Honest limits
Scars improve substantially — flatter, softer, blended; they do not become un-scarred skin
Programs run months because collagen remodels in months — speed promises are marketing
Keloid-prone biology needs its own careful framing — improvement with recurrence management, honestly
Our Medical Team
My scar is years old — can it honestly still improve?
Almost always, and often more than patients expect. What ends at maturity is the scar's own remodelling — not our ability to restart it: injections still flatten mature raised tissue, subcision still releases old tethering, fractional passes still rework decade-old collagen toward normal architecture. Where age genuinely matters is pace — mature scars respond over more sessions, stated in the written program. At our Busan clinic the graded photos at month four settle the question better than any promise.
Three doctors, one standard of care.

From the Founder
Graded and treated in person by one of our doctors.
Scar work is the longest honest conversation on my menu — months of sessions, a daily home protocol, and a finish line called better, not gone. I grade the four problems, sequence the tools, and let consistent photos tell the story. Patients who accept that frame end up the happiest in the clinic; the scar they stopped hiding is why.

Quick Answers
Will my scar be gone, honestly?
No — and any clinic saying yes is selling lighting. What a real program delivers: substantially flatter (injections), softer and untethered (release work), texture reworked toward normal skin (fractional passes), colour blended (laser). Scars typically end the program dramatically less noticeable — the kind you stop covering — which is the honest product, priced and photographed as such at our Busan clinic.
How are C-section and surgical scars treated differently from burns?
By geometry and problem mix. A surgical line is narrow with usually one or two problems — raised and red, or tethered — so its program is short and targeted: injections plus a few fractional passes over three to six sessions. A burn or graft field is texture across area, treated in staged fractional passes with goals set field by field and stated plainly. Both start at the same place: grading, and a written sequence.

Yes — English, Japanese (日本語) and Chinese (中文). We are a 5-minute walk from Seomyeon Station Exit 2, and program photos are reviewed on WhatsApp after you fly home from Busan.
No — scar tissue can be dramatically improved, never converted back to un-scarred skin. Flatter, softer, blended and unremarkable is the honest, achievable endpoint, and it is the one we photograph.
Almost never — mature raised tissue still flattens under injections, old tethering still releases, decade-old collagen still remodels under fractional passes. Age slows pace, not possibility, and your grading says how much.
Steroid-based and combination formulations that soften hypertrophic collagen — dosed conservatively across sessions to flatten without over-thinning, with the exact plan stated at your exam.
A release technique: a fine instrument frees the scar's adhesion to deeper layers, letting pulled-in tissue rise. Tethered scars change character noticeably once released — often the program's most satisfying single step.
Sessions run under topical numbing, with local anaesthetic for injection and subcision work at our Busan clinic — comfortable throughout, with per-tool settling days stated honestly.
Three to nine months for surgical lines, six to twelve for complex trauma work — collagen remodels in months, and the written program paces to it rather than promising around it.
Meaningfully, in staged fractional passes at our Busan clinic — texture softens, tightness eases, fields blend better. Goals are set field by field with burn-specific honesty; transformation claims are not made here.
Treated — with their own framing: injection-led flattening, cautious energy use, and recurrence management stated up front, because keloid biology can rebuild. Improvement with maintenance is the honest keloid promise.
They are cousins — remodelling responds similarly, and the exam can grade them into a program honestly, including the more-modest expectations they carry.
Yes — surgical and trauma programs book evenly across genders at our Busan clinic, with identical grading and framing.
Yes — sessions bank during Busan trips and pace weeks apart by design, with photos refereeing progress by message between visits. The written program is built around your travel honestly.
Silicone care, massage and SPF on the scar — daily, unglamorous, and responsible for a real share of the result. It ships in writing with session one.
Sun on the scar above all — healing scar tissue pigments fast — plus per-tool skip-lists (sauna, actives) stated at each session.
A scar substantially flatter, softer and better-blended across the program arc, documented in consistent-framing photos — improved to unremarkable, not erased. What no honest clinic promises: invisibility, speed beyond collagen's calendar, or keloid cures without recurrence talk.
