Which scar treatment works for which scar, and what does it cost in Busan?

A scar is the skin's repair, and it misbehaves in four ways that need four different tools. Raised (hypertrophic or keloid) scars have too much collagen and are flattened with steroid injection, pressure and silicone, with a vascular laser to take the red out. Sunken scars, acne pits, chickenpox, trauma, have too little and are lifted with RF microneedling or fractional laser that rebuilds collagen from the base. Dark or red scars are flat but discoloured: the red is vessels and goes with Excel V+, the brown is pigment and goes with toning. Downtime after scar treatment, and flying home

By tool: none for toning, vascular and injection; one to three days of redness for RF and fractional passes; a week for CO2. Silicone sheeting between sessions on raised scars. Fly after 24 hours for all but CO2. A scar keeps remodelling for a year after the programme, and sunscreen on it decides the colour.

Can old scars still improve, years later?

Yes. A mature scar is stable, which makes it predictable: it responds to RF, fractional and vascular work the same way at ten years as at two, and the collagen rebuilt around it is permanent. How is a C-section or surgery scar treated differently from a burn?

A surgical line is narrow, often raised or dark, and sometimes tight: steroid and silicone for the raised part, a vascular or toning pass for the colour, a fractional pass to soften the line. A burn is a field: textured, tight, discoloured across an area, and wants fractional or CO2 passes over the whole field in a longer programme, with the colour treated between. Both are steered early if under a year old.
