Follow-Up · Seomyeon, Busan · Foreigner-Friendly

The two-week review in Busan Seomyeon, and why it decides the final result.

Fourteen days is when swelling has resolved, the result is what it will be, and adjustment is still straightforward. It is the single appointment patients most often skip and the one that most changes an outcome.

Almost everything that disappoints about an injectable result was correctable at two weeks and difficult at two months. The appointment exists for that window, and it is included rather than charged.

Does This Sound Familiar?

What patients say about follow-up

  • I did not think I needed to come back.
  • One side settled differently from the other.
  • I want a little more but I do not want to start again.
  • I already flew home. Is the review still possible?
  • How do I know whether something needs adjusting?

All five come up most weeks, and the first is the reason this page exists. The sections below explain what the appointment does.

Why fourteen days specifically

Because that is when three things line up. Swelling from filler has fully resolved, so what you see is the result rather than the reaction. Botox has reached full effect, which happens at day fourteen rather than at day four. And product is still recent enough that adding to it integrates smoothly rather than layering onto something already settled and metabolising.

What actually happens at the review

Photographs under the same fixed conditions as before, a comparison against the pre-treatment set, and an assessment of symmetry, volume and — for botox — whether movement is where you wanted it. If nothing needs doing, the appointment takes ten minutes and you leave. If something does, it is usually a few units or a fraction of a syringe and takes another ten.

What gets corrected at two weeks

Asymmetry after botox, which resolves in minutes with a few units placed where movement is stronger. Volume that settled unevenly after filler. A result that is slightly less than you wanted, where adding is straightforward. A firm area that has not softened. Each of these is a small adjustment at fourteen days and a larger conversation at two months — see what can go wrong.

Why adding later is harder

Because filler integrates into tissue over weeks and begins metabolising, so a top-up at three months layers new product onto a partially resolved base rather than completing a single placement. For botox, waiting means the original has begun wearing off, so units added at two months are treating a different starting point. Neither is impossible; both are less precise.

Why do patients skip it?

Three reasons, none of them good. They feel fine, and an appointment with no problem to solve seems unnecessary. They worry that raising a small dissatisfaction will seem ungrateful or difficult, which is the same hesitation that stops people reporting complications early. Or they have already left Busan and assume the window closed with the trip. All three are addressable — the appointment is short, criticism of a result is expected rather than awkward, and the review works by photograph from anywhere.

What does the review add over time?

A record that makes every subsequent treatment more precise. Your notes end up holding what was used, how much, where, and how your tissue actually responded at fourteen days — which is the information that lets a second round be dosed better than the first. Patients who attend reviews consistently tend to need fewer adjustments over the years, not because anything different was done but because the doctor is working from data rather than from an average. See how long results last for why second rounds usually outperform first ones.

Is it charged?

No. The review is included and adjustment within it is part of the original treatment rather than a second booking. That is deliberate — a review that costs money is a review patients skip, and the outcomes we would rather avoid are exactly the ones that get skipped. Where the adjustment is substantial rather than a refinement, that is discussed before anything is done.

What if I have already flown home?

It happens by photograph, on WhatsApp, LINE or KakaoTalk, in your language. Take images under consistent lighting from the front and both profiles, ideally matching the conditions of your pre-treatment set — see how to read a before and after. Most assessments can be made from that, and where an adjustment is genuinely needed we will say whether it can wait until a next visit or is better done locally.

Which treatments have a two-week review?

Filler and botox, both at fourteen days. Boosters are reviewed at the end of a course rather than after each session. Energy lifting is assessed at three months, since that is when the collagen response completes — reviewing it at two weeks would show almost nothing. Threads are checked at two to three weeks once swelling has resolved.

How do I know if something needs adjusting?

Compare photographs rather than memory, and look in a mirror at rest and in motion. For botox, check whether one side moves more. For filler, look in profile as well as from the front. If you are unsure, come anyway — the appointment is short and the alternative is deciding alone whether something you cannot fully see is worth mentioning.

What the review is not for

Judging whether a treatment was worthwhile. Fourteen days shows the immediate result, not the full effect for anything collagen-based, and not the eventual settling for structural filler placed on bone. It is also not a second consultation — new concerns raised at a review get a proper assessment rather than being addressed in the remaining minutes of a follow-up appointment.

Our Medical Team

Who will actually treat you at JRYN Seomyeon?

A doctor, in person, every time — never a nurse or a coordinator. JRYN Seomyeon has three doctors, and the clinic was founded by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, who still consults here. What you actually need is decided during the consultation after your skin is examined, not from a fixed package chosen in advance.

Three doctors, one standard of care.

Every treatment plan at JRYN Seomyeon is decided and performed in person by one of our doctors — led by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, founder of JRYN Dermatology.

From the Founder

The consultation is the treatment.

Most patients arrive asking for a specific treatment. My job is to check whether it is the right one for what they actually have. Getting that wrong is the most common mistake I correct.

Questions patients ask first.

Twelve to eighteen is fine. What matters is that swelling has resolved and the result has settled, which happens somewhere in that window for most patients.

Yes, and they help — particularly if you photographed yourself before treatment under conditions you controlled — see what to bring.

Courses are reviewed at the end and between sessions as needed. The two-week review is specific to single-session injectables — see why some treatments need a course.

Hyaluronic acid dissolves within a day or two, and reassessment happens a fortnight after that. Raise it at the review rather than living with something you dislike.

Very. First treatments are deliberately conservative precisely so there is room to add. That is the intended use of the appointment rather than an admission that something was wrong.

Reviewed at two weeks for symmetry, assessed for effect at eight — the visible slimming arrives late — see jaw botox or surgery.

Then it takes ten minutes and confirms that. It also puts a photograph in your file at the settled result, which makes the next treatment more precise.

Yes — notes record product, dose, area and response, so any of the three doctors can assess accurately — see who performs your treatment.
