What causes facial redness, and which treatment clears it in Busan?
Facial redness is three things that look alike. Visible vessels
, the fine capillaries on the cheeks and the thicker ones beside the nose, are fixed and are closed by a vascular laser in one or two sessions. Background redness
, the diffuse pink that does not go away, is a mesh of vessels too small to see individually, calmed over a course. Flushing
, the surge with heat, wine, stress or exercise, is rosacea behaviour: lasers reduce the vessels it runs through, RF treats the abnormal ones beneath, and triggers are managed; it is controlled, not cured. Sensitive skin that reacts to products is a fourth thing, and settles when the products stop.
At Boom Dermatology the doctor reads which pattern you have and assigns the device to it: Excel V+
₩275,000 for capillaries, red spots and redness mixed with brown; Clarity
₩220,000 for deeper vessels and rosacea background; BBL Hero
₩440,000 for blotchy, sun-damaged faces that are red and brown everywhere; Sylfirm X
₩330,000 for flushing that returns after lasers and for redness beside melasma. Red acne marks belong on the acne marks page; none of the four devices bruises, which matters for a visitor with a flight booked.
What Busan patients ask before Facial redness treatment
My cheeks are permanently red and make-up only covers so much.
I flush at the slightest thing. One glass of wine and I look sunburnt.
I have visible little veins around my nose that will not go.
Is this rosacea, or just sensitive skin? Nobody has ever told me.
Will this bruise? I cannot take a week off work.
All of these come up most weeks at our Seomyeon skin clinic. The page answers them in order.

The visit
What happens at a redness consultation in Seomyeon?
This is how a redness visit runs at Boom Dermatology, a skin clinic in Seomyeon, Busan, from the first message to the review.
1
Message first
A daylight photo without make-up and what bothers you. The doctor replies with the plan, the device, the session count and the VAT-included price.
2
Consultation
The problem is read, not assumed: type, depth, skin type, history. The plan and settings go on your record.
3
Cleanse and cool
Make-up off, eye shields on; cooling gel or numbing cream by device.
4
Test pulses, then treatment
A few test pulses where the response can be read, then the session by the doctor.
5
Out the door
Sunscreen before you leave; aftercare by device, written on WhatsApp.
6
Review and rhythm
A photo at two to six weeks sets the interval; a mid-course review decides continue, stop or switch.
How does Boom Dermatology choose a redness device?
Three readings, taken at the consultation and written on your record.
Vessel size and depth
Fine surface vessels want 532 nm; thick nasal vessels and background want long-pulse 1064; diffuse blotching wants broadband light.
What sits beside the red
Brown spots pull toward Excel V+ or BBL; melasma pulls away from heat and toward Sylfirm X; pores and reactivity pull toward RF.
History and calendar
Redness that came back after lasers elsewhere is a Sylfirm X case; no spare days rules out BBL flaking.

Questions, answered properly
My cheeks are permanently red and make-up only covers so much. What clears it?
Permanent background redness is a mesh of small vessels, and it calms over a course of three to five sessions with Clarity or Excel V+, four to six weeks apart, each session closing more of the mesh. The honest expectation at Boom Dermatology is a cheek that reads pink instead of red in fixed-light photos, make-up that covers easily, and a maintenance session once or twice a year if the cause is rosacea.
I flush at the slightest thing. Can a laser stop that?
Reduce it, not stop it. Flushing is rosacea behaviour: the vessels dilate on a trigger. Lasers close the fixed vessels the flush runs through, so it is less visible and settles faster; Sylfirm X treats the abnormal vessels beneath, which reduces the frequency; triggers, skincare and sometimes medication from the doctor do the rest. We say controlled, not cured, before the first session.
Can the little veins around my nose go?
Yes, usually in one or two sessions: Excel V+ for the fine ones, Clarity for the thicker ones at the alar grooves. They look darker for a few days and are gone. New ones can form over years and are closed when they do.
Is this rosacea or sensitive skin?
Rosacea flushes with triggers and over years leaves fixed vessels and background redness; sensitive skin reacts to products and settles when they stop. Many patients at our Seomyeon skin clinic have both. The doctor separates them at the consultation and tells you which part a device can change and which part skincare must.
Will this bruise?
No. Pulsed-dye lasers like Vbeam can leave a week of purpura at strong settings; Excel V+ and Clarity heat vessels closed without rupturing them, BBL leaves flaking spots, Sylfirm X leaves pinpoint marks. Patients at Boom Dermatology in Busan are back at work the next day.
How much does facial redness treatment cost in Busan?

2
Which laser is best for redness?
Excel V+ for capillaries and red with brown; Clarity for deeper vessels and rosacea; BBL for blotchy sun damage; Sylfirm X for flushing that returns.
3
How many sessions?
One or two for vessels; three to five for background redness; yearly maintenance for rosacea.
4
Will it bruise?
No; none of the four devices causes purpura.
5
Can rosacea be cured?
Controlled, not cured.
6
Who operates the laser at Boom Dermatology?
The doctor, with wavelength, energy and passes written on your record in English.
7
Do foreign patients pay more?
No. One price for everyone, VAT included, no consultation fee if you proceed.
8
Is it safe on Asian skin?
Yes with test pulses and conservative settings; 1064 nm is the default on Korean and other East Asian skin, and every setting is designed to avoid post-inflammatory darkening.
The doctor names which redness pattern you have, the device with its reason, the session count and the VAT-included price, before you book a flight to Busan.
