Does This Sound Familiar?

What Busan patients ask before booking hydrogen therapy.

  • Does hydrogen actually do anything for skin?
  • Is this worth booking on its own?
  • How does it compare with treatments that have stronger evidence?
  • Where does it fit in a real skincare plan?

All five come up most weeks in Busan. The sections below answer them in order — what we can and cannot claim, whether it stands alone, how it compares against evidence-backed options, and its honest place in a plan.

What Is Hydrogen Therapy?

A comfort session, not a treatment claim.

Hydrogen therapy is offered widely across the aesthetic industry with claims that outpace the clinical evidence behind them. We include it in our combined care programmes because patients find the session pleasant and it sits comfortably alongside hydration and calming work.

What we will not do is describe it as treatment for a condition. Where a patient has pigment, acne, texture or ageing concerns, those go to the tools with evidence behind them — lasers, injectables, prescribed treatment. Hydrogen therapy is priced at consultation at our Busan, Korea clinic and framed as what it is: comfort and maintenance within a programme.

Hydrogen Therapy Pricing

How much is hydrogen therapy in Busan — and why exam-priced?

Because it is almost always a component within a combined care programme rather than a standalone session, so the programme is priced as a whole. The figure is confirmed in writing before treatment. The table below shows published neighbouring care.

The Honest Timeline

What a session honestly delivers.

When What you will notice What to do
Immediately Skin reads calm and fresh; the session itself is comfortable throughout. Make-up straight away; nothing is restricted.
Same day The pleasant effect holds through the day. Normal routine continues unchanged.
Beyond No lasting structural change — which is why we describe it as comfort rather than treatment. For lasting change, evidence-backed tools are the honest recommendation.
Honest Suitability

Who it suits in Busan — and who should wait.

A good fit if you…

  • Wanting a comfortable component within a wider care programme
  • Maintenance sessions alongside procedural treatment
  • Patients who value the experience as well as the outcome
  • Busan visitors adding comfort care to a treatment visit

Better to wait if you…

  • Active skin infection in the treatment area — settled first
  • Expecting treatment for a condition — pigment, acne and ageing go to evidence-backed tools
  • Wanting a standalone course — we do not sell comfort treatments that way

After your treatment

  • Nothing restricted — make-up and normal life immediately
  • Continue your usual routine and daily SPF
  • Any procedural aftercare from the same visit still applies in full

Honest limits

  • This is comfort and maintenance, not treatment for any condition
  • Marketing claims for hydrogen outpace the clinical evidence, and we say so
  • For pigment, acne, texture or ageing, evidence-backed tools are what we recommend
Our Medical Team

Does hydrogen actually do anything for skin?

The honest answer is that the marketing considerably outpaces the evidence, and I would rather say that than repeat claims I cannot support. Patients find the session pleasant, skin looks calm afterwards, and as a component within a hydration or calming programme it earns a modest place. What it is not is treatment — and where a patient has a genuine concern such as pigment, acne or ageing, sending them to a hydrogen session instead of a laser or a prescription would be a disservice. At our Busan clinic it appears inside programmes and never as an answer to a condition.

There is a version of this page that would sell far more sessions. It would also require me to write things about hydrogen that the literature does not support, and I would rather keep the page and lose the sessions.

Quick Answers

Where does it fit in a real skincare plan?

As comfort within a programme, and near the end of the priority list rather than the start. If your goals are pigment, texture, acne or ageing, the money is better spent on the tools with evidence behind them — and at our Busan clinic that is exactly what the consultation will recommend. Where hydrogen therapy earns its place is for patients already on a procedural programme who want a pleasant maintenance session between treatments, or as one component within our combined Moisture Care programme at ₩190,000.
