Yes, within limits worth stating precisely. The stratum corneum is a genuine obstacle, and most molecules applied topically stay largely on top of it — that is the barrier doing its job. Sonophoresis loosens that lipid structure temporarily, and iontophoresis then drives charged molecules through the opening using a mild electrical gradient. The delivery achieved is meaningfully deeper than a serum and meaningfully shallower than an injection.
