Gold PTT in Busan Seomyeon, heat delivered inside the oil gland.

Gold nanoparticles are massaged into the follicles, then a laser they absorb strongly passes over the skin — converting light into heat exactly where the oil is made, and nowhere else. A targeted route for oily, acne-prone skin. ₩200,000 per session at our Busan, Korea clinic. English, 日本語 and 中文 consults. Medically reviewed by Dr. Jeong Heon Lee, MD.

Does This Sound Familiar?

What Busan patients ask before booking Gold PTT.

  • Gold nanoparticles sound like marketing — what actually happens?
  • How is this different from isotretinoin or antibiotics?
  • Will my skin stop being oily, or just less oily?
  • How does it compare with Agnes for recurring acne?
  • Is three sessions really enough?

All five come up most weeks in Busan. The sections below answer them in order — the photothermal mechanism explained plainly, the medication comparison, an honest oil-reduction answer, the Agnes assignment, and realistic session math.

What Is Gold PTT?

Particles that turn light into local heat.

Photothermal therapy uses a carrier that absorbs a specific wavelength intensely and converts it to heat. Gold nanoparticles do exactly that: suspended in a solution, massaged into the sebaceous follicles, and then activated by a laser pass. The heat is generated inside the follicle where the particles sit — not spread across the skin surface.

That selectivity is the point. The sebaceous gland is damaged enough to reduce its output while surrounding tissue is largely unaffected, which is why the treatment addresses oil production itself rather than the lesions oil produces. A standard course is three sessions one to two weeks apart, ₩200,000 each on our published list at our Busan, Korea clinic, with the fuller effect reading at eight to twelve weeks.

How It Works

The science, without the hype.

Delivery, then activation — here is the sequence.

01

Particle delivery

The gold suspension is massaged into the follicles so the particles sit where the sebaceous glands are, not on the surface.

02

Selective absorption

The laser wavelength is chosen because gold absorbs it far more strongly than skin does — energy lands on the particles.

03

Heat inside the gland

Absorbed light becomes heat at the particle, damaging the sebaceous unit from within while surrounding tissue is spared.

04

Reduced output

Treated glands produce less oil over the following weeks, which reduces the conditions breakouts need.

What Gold PTT Treats

Oil at its source, and what it causes.

The examination confirms oil is genuinely the driver — not every breakout is a sebum problem.

Your Visit, Step by Step

Six steps at our Busan clinic, forty to sixty minutes with preparation.

01

Cause confirmation

The doctor confirms sebum output is driving your acne at our Busan clinic — hormonal and bacterial patterns need different leads.

02

Photos and written plan

Fixed-light photos, then the three-session plan and total price in writing before anything begins.

03

Particle application

The gold suspension is applied and massaged into the follicles — the unhurried part of the appointment.

04

Laser activation

The pass activates the particles inside the follicles; the sensation is warmth rather than sharpness.

05

Same-day return

Mild flushing settles within hours; make-up resumes the next morning for most.

06

The build

Oil reduction reads over weeks; the eight-to-twelve-week photo is the honest verdict — reviewed by message after you leave Busan.

The Oil Curve

What a course honestly delivers.

When What you will notice What to do
Session 1–2 Mild flushing on the day; skin often reads less shiny within the first fortnight. Keep your prescribed routine — this supports medical treatment rather than replacing it.
Week 3–6 Inflammatory lesions reduce as the conditions feeding them recede. Do not stop prescribed medication without your doctor saying so.
Week 8–12 The honest verdict: oil output visibly lower, breakouts fewer, pores refining. The fixed-light photo at week twelve is what the course should be judged on.
Beyond Treated glands stay reduced; untreated ones and new skin behave as before. Maintenance is discussed by response rather than sold on a schedule.
Honest Suitability

Who it suits in Busan — and who should wait.

A good fit if you…

  • Oily skin where sebum output is genuinely the driver
  • Inflammatory acne alongside medical treatment, not instead of it
  • Patients wanting a procedural route with minimal downtime
  • Oily pores dilated by chronic sebum flow
  • Busan visitors — sessions are same-day with nothing to hide

Better to wait if you…

  • Pregnancy — deferred as standard
  • Hormonally driven acne without oil dominance — medical management leads instead
  • Severe cystic acne — treated medically first, with procedures added after
  • Expecting permanently oil-free skin — the grading states the realistic ceiling first

After your treatment

  • Normal skincare from the same evening; make-up from the next morning
  • Continue prescribed acne medication unless your doctor advises otherwise
  • SPF daily — treated skin is not more fragile, but acne-prone skin pigments easily
  • Judge the course at the week-twelve photo, not at week two

Honest limits

  • Treated glands reduce output; untreated glands elsewhere behave as before
  • This supports medical acne treatment rather than replacing it
  • Hormonally driven breakouts continue regardless of how little oil the skin makes
Our Medical Team

How is this different from isotretinoin or antibiotics?

By where it acts and what it costs you. Medication works systemically — isotretinoin shrinks sebaceous glands across the whole body with real efficacy and real monitoring requirements; antibiotics reduce bacteria and inflammation while they are taken. Gold PTT acts only where the particles were placed, with no systemic exposure and no bloodwork. That makes it useful for patients who cannot or will not take medication, and as support alongside it — but it is not a replacement for treating moderate or severe acne medically. At our Busan clinic I say which your case needs first, and procedures follow that decision rather than lead it.

Assessed and treated in person by one of our doctors.

Every acne treatment that skips the diagnosis eventually disappoints someone. Oil-driven skin responds to this beautifully; hormonally driven skin does not, and no number of sessions changes that. The five minutes spent deciding which you have is worth more than the machine.

Quick Answers

Will my skin stop being oily, or just less oily?

Less oily, and honestly that is the correct goal. Sebum is not a defect — skin without it is dry, irritated and barrier-compromised, which is a different set of problems. What the treatment does is reduce output from the glands it reached, enough to change the conditions that breakouts and dilated pores depend on. Patients typically describe skin that stays matte for hours longer and blots less through the day. Anyone promising permanently oil-free skin is describing a state no dermatologist would want you to have.

Gold PTT or Agnes for my acne?

Pattern decides. If your skin is broadly oily with widespread inflammatory lesions, Gold PTT treats the whole field at ₩200,000 per session and reduces output across it. If specific spots recur in exactly the same locations, that is a unit problem and Agnes at ₩400,000 treats those individual glands directly. Faces carrying both are common, and at our Busan clinic they get a written sequence rather than both booked at once — usually field treatment first, then unit work on whatever still recurs.

Gold PTT questions in Busan.

₩200,000 per session on the published list, with the standard three-session course totalled in writing at the exam. No foreigner markup.

Yes — English, Japanese (日本語) and Chinese (中文). We are a 5-minute walk from Seomyeon Station Exit 2, and course photos are reviewed on WhatsApp after you fly home from Busan.

A carrier that absorbs a specific wavelength intensely converts light into heat exactly where it sits — here, gold nanoparticles inside the sebaceous follicles.

They sit in the follicles for the treatment and are cleared with normal skin turnover and cleansing at our Busan clinic. There is no systemic exposure of the kind medication involves.

Oily skin, inflammatory acne driven by sebum, and pores dilated by chronic oil flow. Hormonal and bacterial patterns need medical management to lead.

The pass reads as warmth rather than sharpness — most patients find the massage stage the longer part of the appointment rather than the uncomfortable one.

None to one day of mild flushing. Make-up resumes the next morning for most patients.

Three, one to two weeks apart, with the total written before you start. The effect keeps building for eight to twelve weeks afterwards.

Reduced shine often within the first fortnight; the honest verdict is the week-eight-to-twelve photo when treated glands have settled.

No. It supports medical treatment and helps patients who cannot take medication, but moderate and severe acne is managed medically first at our Busan clinic.

Yes — the heat is confined to the particles inside follicles rather than spread through pigment-bearing tissue, which keeps pigment risk low.

Broad oily fields go to Gold PTT; individual recurring lesions go to Agnes. Mixed cases get a written sequence rather than both at once.

Yes — oily skin and inflammatory acne book heavily among men at our Busan clinic.

Yes — you can fly out of Busan the same day. There is nothing to manage beyond your normal routine.

Make-up on the day, harsh actives for a few days, and fresh sunburn on the treatment zone.

Visibly lower oil output, fewer inflammatory lesions and refining pores by the week-twelve photo. What no honest clinic promises: permanently oil-free skin, acne cured by a procedure, or results in hormonally driven cases where sebum was never the driver.
