  • Which rung would my pigment need?
  • Is the ₩40,000 rung better than the ₩20,000 one?
  • What if the course is not working?

All five come up most weeks in Busan. The sections below answer them in order — where this sits on our published list, how the assignment is made, what the price does and does not tell you, and how response is measured.

The Toning Ladder

Four published rungs, one grading.

Our toning list has four published price points per session — ₩20,000, ₩40,000, ₩99,000 and ₩200,000 — covering eight platforms. That ladder exists because pigment differs in depth, consolidation and skin type, not because patients differ in what they can afford.

It's Pico sits on the ₩40,000 rung. Whether your pigment needs this rung, the one below it or the ₩200,000 platforms is settled at the examination at our Busan, Korea clinic, and the reason for the assignment is stated alongside its price. The most frequent honest recommendation across this ladder remains the bottom rung.

How It Works

The science, without the hype.

Assignment, price, then treatment — in that order at our Busan clinic.

01

Grade the pigment

Diffuse tone, consolidated spots and melasma are separated before any platform is named.

02

Assign the rung

The platform follows the grading, with its published price stated so the choice can be checked.

03

Reassign, do not extend

If five sessions show no change, the rung was wrong — we change platform rather than sell more sessions.

The Four Rungs

Same job, four price points.

The Response Curve

What treatment honestly delivers.

When What you will notice What to do
Session 1–2 Mild flushing settles within the hour; nothing dramatic yet. SPF daily from the first session — it decides whether the course holds.
Session 3–5 Cumulative change begins reading in fixed-light photos. Keep the interval; toning rewards consistency over intensity.
Session 5 checkpoint The photo decides: continue, stop early, or change rung. No change here means the rung was wrong, and we say so.
Honest Suitability

Who it suits in Busan — and who should wait.

A good fit if you…

  • Diffuse pigment where the grading assigns this rung
  • Wanting the ladder published before committing to a course
  • Preferring assignment by reading rather than by price
  • Busan residents and repeat visitors able to keep a course rhythm

Better to wait if you…

  • Pregnancy — deferred as standard
  • Active tan or recent sun — two shaded weeks first, without exception
  • Melasma-dominant pigment — treated conservatively or routed elsewhere

After your treatment

  • SPF daily without exception through the course
  • Normal skincare from the same evening
  • Fixed-light photos at each session referee the course

Honest limits

  • A higher rung is not automatically a better result for your pigment
  • Sun exposure undoes toning faster than any rung builds it
  • No change by session five means the wrong rung, not too few sessions
Our Medical Team

Is the ₩40,000 rung better than the ₩20,000 one?

Different rather than better, and the grading decides which your pigment needs. Our entry toning at ₩20,000 handles a great deal of diffuse dullness across a proper course, and it remains the recommendation I write most often. Where the ladder moves upward is when the grading finds pigment the entry rung would work at for a year without reaching. At our Busan clinic the reason for any rung above the bottom is named explicitly, and if I cannot name one, the bottom rung is what goes in the plan.

From the Founder

Assessed and treated in person by one of our doctors.

The most useful thing about publishing four toning prices is that patients can ask why they were not given the cheapest one. I would rather answer that question than avoid it.

Quick Answers

What if the course is not working?

By session five the fixed-light photo decides, and no visible change means the rung was wrong rather than the count being too low. Selling more sessions of a platform that has not moved your pigment is the single most common way toning courses waste money. At our Busan clinic the reassignment conversation happens at that checkpoint as a matter of policy, and moving to a different rung does not restart your spending from zero — what you have already learned about your skin carries into the new plan.
